Taylor and his team has completely lost confidence in Jermain's abilities. A shame really because Froch is Taylor-made (no pun intended) for him. I doubt the cobra would win a round TBH.

What's really dissapointing is that Taylor can pretty much pick and choose any opponent he would want. So he can go for any one of the big belts in Bute, Kessler or Froch depending on which style he figures matches his skill-set the best.

In the end he chooses Green....

I know Froch is good though, but I am disappointed in Taylor. He isn't getting any younger and needs to fight these guys.

I agree man, just disappointing. This is why I love the welterweight division, not just because of the talent, but in time everyone is fighting who they are suppose to.

Taylor can not pick and choose any opponent he wants as his team tried to negotiate with Bute and the fight fell through. Just because Taylor is American it does not make him less of a threat to other opponents or more of a commodity. That is an all to common misconception.

Not true. Taylor should've fought Mads Larsen.

Of course taylor is ducking Froch, Taylor isn't a hungry boxer anymore he hasnt been since his second win over hopkins if he could bring back the hunger from those days he could be a force in the division but he just wants to get paid in low risk high reward fights so he can maybe win super mid title and cement his legacy as a two division champion and earn as much money as quick as possible he seems like the sort of fighter who doesnt want to long into his 30's.

so he only has luke 3-4 years left and if he loses to someone like froch, kessler. he will have to start over again in the divison and he aint got time for that, i'm surprised he hasnt gone after Bute and his IBF title because of the dodgyness in how he one his last fight and he isnt as deverstating a puncher as either froch or kessler.

I never heard about serious discussions with Bute?

But I know that he turned down Kessler as well as Froch.

No, no, no American fighters don't Duck Europeans, that silly.

American fighters fight better opponents instead of Eurobums.

Although all sarcasm aside Froch isn't exactly setting the world on fire...

Yeah, this move from Taylor is pretty disappointing. It is a shame because in the past Jermain has always seeked and fought a high level of competition. It is what made me a fan.

Thats exactly it though. He did take risks early in his career,he just isnt willing to do it anymore. He hasnt been in enough fights to be considered shot in the traditional sense of the word, but his confidence and is hunger seem shot to bits, and as someone else earlier mentioned,I also think the people managing him know it too
