Let's not get corny here either, Mosley does NOT hit harder than Cotto. He was throwing haymakers as opposed to Cotto's short compact shots. Cotto did not have the luxury of loading up nor did he face a softer Margarito like Shane did.

I like Shane, he is what Floyd wishes he could be. FASTER, STRONGER and longer BALLS. He is not hiding in a mansion like FLoyd, watching real MEN fight on PPV.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I respect Margarito for going back out there because most people wouldn't have even gone into the ring in the first place. Margarito, while he may or may not have cheated he still has a TON of heart and should be respected for that.

i saw people arguing back and forth in another thread about who quit in worse fashion so lets take a vote. i expect the ricans to vote for cotto and the mexicans to vote for there guy so we'll just factor in the clearly unbiased posters as the deciding votes.

cotto: bloody, battered, shattered, broken nose, (possibly being beaten with plastered hands), ate uppercut after uppercut, and quit from what looked to be exhaustion taking a knee without even being hit.

margarito: no blood from what i can recall, ate body shot after body shot, ate mosleys bombs and right hands all night with glee, got knocked down and was able to continue (although he didn't take the necessary steps forward towards the referee in the opinion of many), then got knocked down in the following round - with a smile on his face

How do yo know Margarito couldn't have taken 3-4 more punches before being "knocked out" to your satisfaction. My point is simple: It is possible to quit while giving off the impression that you were "knocked out."

Cotto took a KNEE. The right thing to try and catch some wind etc. His corner through in the towel. Considering he was taking plaster shots for 11 rounds, you better be harder than you think you are, before you pass judgment on Cotto and what he went through in that particular fight.

TO me, it could be argued that Margarito QUIT when he realized he had no plaster and threw 50% less punches per round than normal. He was dejected, and half assed. All credit to Mosley and ****m for that.

Do the math with me junior: Cotto went 11 rounds taking illegal shots, 4 low blows, a headbutt etc Margo goes 9 taking legal shots and gets "knocked out" while smiling. OK.

Tony was trying to throw leather back...he was just moving in super-slowmo by that stage, no way to fend the **** off. And he didn't fall until the last punch was landed, by which point the referee was already moving to wave it off.
