The best thing about Darchinyan, he doesn't waste time or fights. He's always looking for the best match-up against the best opposition. He doesn't do any tune-up fights in Australia or fight guys with 10 losses. After Arce, he'll start calling out Montiel. And that's another fight that has to be made.

I have always said that if Vic prepares for a fight and is motivated for one......he will be unstoppable. However he is not always motivated and sometimes overlooks opponents which he did with Donaire and I'm hearing he is slacking off a little bit for his upcoming fight. We'll just have to wait for Saturday don't we........
I don't know, Montiel has a pretty mean hook and has decent defense besides straight shots. If Vic doesn't throw those wide looping shots always and continues to mix it up by throwing straight shots down the middle, I think he can beat Montiel. Ultimately though I see Montiel catching Vic and KOing him. Maybe not though.

Well...he isn't the same fighter. He's actually regrouped, adjusted and gotten better. Weird.

Seeing that evolution, the singleminded will he's exhibited in getting back up on top, has given me a certain amount of extra respect for Vic that I didn't have before. I'm almost...almost...a grudging fan of the guy at this point. Motherfucker proved me wrong, so I almost feel like I owe it to him to eat crow and get on his side.

I always loved Hamed...always...Naz was an idol growing up. But he folded mentally after the Barrera defeat, and there's no denying it. Vic arguably had a lot more to bounce back from and did it in the most definitive manner possible (short of directly avenging the Donaire loss, which he may yet do). The only defence you can really make for Hamed is that his fortune was made and once he swallowed his first defeat and the momentum was derailed there was no getting that hunger back.
Yeah, it's hard to regain something like hunger. Especially for a guy like Hamed. He always felt like he had proven himself. Like he had done what he wanted to. After the Sanchez fight, he seemed content. That's a major problem for a boxer. Darchinyan seems like he's proven himself, except to himself. He still has more to prove to himself and that keeps a fighter going.

I honestly doubted Darchinyan, too. Much like I did with Arthur Abraham. Then he came back and killed Miranda, even though I picked him to win a decision, that surprised the hell out of me. What is it with me doubting Armenian fighters only to be thoroughly proven wrong? Lol.

Yeah, you can have all the talent in the world. If your promoters don't try and maximize on it, you just don't stand a chance in the long run.

Montiel is a guy that I really appreciate watching. Boxing skill when he needs to use it, but power like a mutha****er. Very impressive fighter.

A fight with Darchinyan, to me, it's a pick 'em.
