Wasn't worth reading anyway, if I understood it correctly. My reading of it was, Floyd Snr. is a crap trainer and Hatton is God.

You do have a point, but look at it from his prospective.
Being away from his son for eight weeks really is a long time. I understand that isnt a big deal to some fighters, but his kid is like 8 years old, two months is forever for an 8 year old.
Life is more important than work for Hatton. That isnt really a bad thing, as long as in the gym and in the ring he does his work. I mean he is talking about his parents, his kid, his lady, its hard to be away from things like that when its your life.

Sums Hatton up, how many world class fighters ***** about going into camp for 8 weeks a couple of times a year, this made me think of Marvin Hagler, a fighter who struggled for years to gain respect and got paid peanuts and who thought nothing of shutting himself off from the world in preperation for a fight, almost like a sense of duty. Hattons rise to multi million paydays has been easy compared to Haglers and many other fighters and to cry about being away from home for 8 weeks is pathetic baring in mind he will likely walk away with between 6-10 million. ******

I am not saying Ricky shouldnt do it, if its what he needs to win it is absolutely worth it. If he is the kind of guy who needs that isolation he should absolutely suck it up. All I am saying is if you can put in all the same work and go home to your family, that is obviously the better deal.

Hagler used to say he was "going to jail". Hatton's going to the football match

Being totally dedicated and focussed, and being willing to sacrifice everything during your training is what it takes to get to the very top.

Okay, thats a very simple way of putting it.
Hatton just stated he was WILLING to go to Vegas if he had to, just that he would prefer not to. Your acting like not wanting to leave his family for two months is some kind of character flaw, or shows some sort of lack of dedication. Sure, this fight is incredibly important in his career, and everything else can afford to take a back seat for two months if it has to. Obviously Ricky feels more comfortable with the idea of training at home.
I could imagine this kind of training camp would hurt many fighters: they would be too preoccupied with worrying about their children, or missing their women. I dare say any respectable family man would be in danger of this, and Ricky seems to be one of those guys.
Sorry guys, but you might be reaching for something that isnt there. That or you just dont know what your talking about.
