Floyd Mayweather wanted to fight Mosley around the time he got done beating Arturo Gatti, but Jin Mosley brushed the idea off by saying, "Shane has more KO's than Floyd has wins." Simply put, the Mosley weren't interested in the fight. So, Floyd fought Sharmba Mitchell and planned on fighting Zab Judah later. All the while Shane was saying that he'd fight the winner of Judah-Mayweather because he'd "done enough so that they should fight each other" to determine who got to fight him.

After Mayweather won the fight against Judah Bob Arum was trying to sell the Margarito fight really hard, but Floyd bought himself out of his Top Rank contract in an effort to get a DLH or Mosley fight. DLH wasn't interested and neither was Mosley, but Mosley was dumb enough to say that he wasn't available because he'd had some teeth removed and had a toothache. When he was asked why he couldn't just sign to fight later he said he was going on a family vacation.

That's the truth and part of the reason why Dan Goosen jumped in to put together the Baldomir-Mayweather fight. Mayweather was going to fight Kermit Cintron before the DLH fight, but DLH made it a condition of his agreeing to fight Mayweather that he not fight any tune up fights. Since the DLH fight Mosley, realizing that Mayweather is now a huge money maker, has wanted to fight Floyd, but Mayweather hasn't really been interested in the fight.

I doubt either guy fears each other but when one guy wanted to fight one the other was interested in a bigger more grossing fight and vice versa.

he turned down the fight at 135 because he wanted to fight Oscar. that's fine, and I don't hold that against him. Oscar = $$$$$$

but he turned down the fight at 147 in 2006 because he said he had a toothache after his fight with Vargas. he also said he was going on a vacation and said Floyd should go fight Margarito. LOL

I remember shane saying Mayweather and Judah should fight each other before either of them could get a crack at him, After Mayweather won he said maybe Mayweather should take the 8 million dollars on offer by arum to fight margarito before he fights mayweather, He then said he has a toothache, then he wasnt available after the vargas fight because he would be on a family vacation..

I just think Mosley dislike Mayweather so much at the time that he didnt want to do him any favours by fighting him, But after Mayweather got DLH everything changed.

I read all acounts and they all point too shane making excuse after excuse on why the fight cant happen. Now he is getting a divorce he wants Floyd to help him out. I think Floyd should do shane just like shane did him.

Because of the respect that i have for Mosley i wouldnt personally use the word "Duck" but if i put my personal feeling aside and look at the facts/events he did straight up duck Mayweather when he could have fought him.

But because Mosley is liked by everybody/ most people he didnt get any heat for it, Imagine if Mayweather had said he had a toothache???

The fight would have been big at the time but Mosley didnt want it for some reason, Mayweather even went as far as to call shane names even suggesting Jin Mosley wears the trousers in the Mosley household..

Gotta love how people conveniently leave out the fact that as a GBP owner and face, DLH has first dibs on any fight he wants, including Floyd.

Of course Shane is going to step aside when Oscar is writing his checks and gives him the lifestyle he leads.

True, after PBF defeated ODLH, Mosley had been public about wanting to fight PBF. SSM wants what everyone wants and that is MONEY. He already shown he is an elite boxer. Now he wants money.

In the case of PBF, I believe he wants to stay retire and keep his "undefeated status". Everyone knows he might lose in the WW Div to another good boxer like SSM, Cotto, and PW. He is not coming back, period.

You guys need to read the article on Maxboxing titled "Floyd is in no rush to fight Mosley" it pretty much sums it up.

Yea it is a great article, Very Fair, and it basically reinforces all the claims of Mosely Not wanting to fight Floyd..

Somebody should really Copy and Paste that Article, because It gives a clear perspective on then and now.
