I agree with everything you have said here. But isn't insisting on 20 mil a bit greedy, and then not facing the best op if you don't get it? I mean come on, seriously, he probably would have gotten at least 10 mil to fight Cotto and it would have enhanced his reputation greatly. 8 mil for Margs and it would have enhanced his reputation greatly. Its not like he would have been getting paid peanuts. Do you not think he owes the fans the best fights si9nce they're the ones who have made him rich to begin with?

One of the best young fighters of the last 5 years, willing to fight the best and still has time to build upon the things he's already achieved.

If he was one of the best fighters in the last 5 years meaning since
      2004-2009.

Why didnt he accept Floyd's offer to fight in 2005/2006...?

What kind of best fighter in the past 5 years say he isnt ready against a fighter who is naturally smaller than him???

and if he accepts all challenges...why didnt he accept that one..???

Being ONE of the best doesn't mean you're ready for THE best. Why didn't Floyd take him on in 2007-2008 after he had improved and gained a following?

Floyd is taller with a longer reach. Seems to me they were both at 147 when Floyd said no with his money excuse. At least Cotto was honest.

How could floyd say no when the fight was never offered??????

Bob never contacted(call al haymon or ellerbe) floyd about a cotto fight ever....!!!! (ever) (ever) Bob arum ran his mouth and that was it.
he never put a contract up for floyd to sign...NEVER

and if you say floyd could have made the fight happen if he wanted to..

well he did try to make the fight happen when they were both under TOP RANK and when he wanted too and bob arum and cotto's camp said we are not ready and no before floyd could complete a sentence... ..!!!

            Once again;

whats change in cotto style since 2006?

            he still

            Swings wide,
            Waste Punches,
            has a weak chin
Cant stop straight right hands or uppercuts,
and is under progressing in the lateral movement department.

and this is when he said he wasnt ready for floyd....????
            what did he improve???
to now say he is ready for floyd...what did he improve..?

Cotto has always had a good jab, cotto has always had good speed....Cotto is a good fighter...real good...he is a good body puncher and works hard..
            so that hasnt change...

so what change so much that he is now ready for floyd...?

Both Cotto and Margarito called him out and Floyd used the excuse "not enough money". Floyd says this in the other thread you bumped, yet he was willing to fight a less experienced Cotto for less Money than he would have made at 147. Interesting.

Margarito was a belt holder when he call out floyd not the lineal champion of the world. ...and the only reason floyd didnt fight margarito is because if he would have fought margarito he would not have fought de la hoya because he would have had to renew his contract with top rank. and he had a time limit to get out of his contract so he could fight oscae...which he did.

And now i believe the only reason Margarito wanted to fight floyd is because he knew he had bricks in his hands...Margarito is a cheater...and he is slow and has no skill...this fight would have been just the same as the baldomir fight.

Bottom line.....Floyd never took the fight. He even went as far as to say "down the road" only to never make the fight. Excuses, excuses. Margs was seen as the biggest threat at the time. Floyd...DIDN'T...FIGHT...HIM!!!

Whats this "same respects" bs?" You don't have to insult a fighter to call him out. Cotto let FDloyd and the world know that he wanted him.
