Is Vitali Klitschko the next to join the Pavlik, Margarito, Delahoya list of upsets?

All that's required again is a slightly bad/off night for Vitali and for Gomez to be performing at his best. Gomez is an underrated fighter.

Unlike Pavlik and Marg, Vitali is experienced against all kinds of styles, and he's prepared for everything, he's seen it all. Vitali rarely loses a round, while Pavlik and Marg have the 'take 2 hit 1' mentality, at least against top competition.

I get the feeling by reading the press reports, that Vitali seems like he's looking past Gomez to a possible unification bout with Valuev....

Also, Paul, have you heard anything about Gomez's training camp?

I'm probably not going to pick JCG to beat Vitali, but I wouldn't turn down big odds on him either. He is a very live underdog.

Vitali despite possessing a solid chin knows the meaning of defense. He generally smacks his opponents with 3-4 shots before taking one and rarely loses a round. Totally different mindset. He's closer to PBF then either Margarito or Pavlik.

Not a lot, just that he was sparring Andrei Arlovski.

JC Gomez is indeed an underrated fighter, and Vitali is going to have more competitive fight on his hands than he had with Peter.

However, Vitali is aware of JC's capabilities and will not underestimate him. I'm predicting he'll win by late KO. He knows Gomez well, they used to frequently spar when both were Universum fighters.

Vitali will be very focused, partly because his trainer has quite a history with Gomez! Fritz Sdunek's daughter was married to Gomez, and he treated her very badly, so emotions will be running high.

I wasn't making a head-to-head comparison. Margarito and Pavlik are different fighter, Yes. Simply a observation that just when nobody gives a very good fighter (for whatever reason) who is u underdog a chance.....he scores the upset.

                    Hopkins > pacquiao > Mosley

And Vitali hasn't seen anything like Gomez. Gomez is a fast, slick cruiserweight turned heavyweight. If Gomez is anything like he was 3 years ago when he put on a boxing exhibition on HBO aganst Sinan Samil Sam....Vitali better be worried unstead of overlooking this guy.
