I hope he can recover from that devastating KO against Holt, that was really the kind of knockout that few recover from. He was out, like unconscious.
I like Canchila a lot. He handed the hyped up Segura his ass and outboxed him so there are exceptions to the rule.

I am anxious to see the rematch.

Cesar Canchila is definitely a tough guy, he really whooped Segura bad. Segura came in with a lot of charisma and even I had to take notice of his attitude despite the less than glamorous division and obvious language barriers.

Canchila is a little crude though, he tends to go to battle and get hit more than his style should but he's all balls. He has a great balance of balls and technical skill, I just wish there was more power in his division.

Only Michael Carbajal, Ricardo Torres, Jorge Arce and Brian Viloria brought the hammer in those divisions.

Hopefully Segura has better stamina in the rematch and can make a better war of it.

Only if they are trained solely for amateur boxing. In America and the Latin countries, the idea is to train them to become professionals. In Europe and Cuba, where they dominate international amateur competition, they only train to be successful in the World Games and Olympics. Their styles don't translate to the pros.

You could probably call colombian boxers the spoilers or upset fighters. They seem to always be last minute replacements or just as another opponent and end up pulling it off or giving his opponent hell to say the least. I'll always love Prescott for his annhilation of Khan who was just waiting to be wiped out and it finally happened. Torres seems to give any fighter he fights a lot of trouble. Urango is kinda meh, but he does have pop. They pride themselves so hard in being able to punch hard. If they do learn more skill, they could have many top level fighters. But I just don't think boxing is all that popular in Colombia as every single colombian friend I've talked to (i have many), none are into boxing at all.

That's because they are used to fighting 10-rounders for $100. They bring good records and low-ball offers. The person who brings them to America to fight as an opponent probably makes more money for delivering them than the fighter.

I think they may just take over Mexicos "punch me in the face cuz I am cool" slot. Right now Mexico is in trouble. Warriors have all become No mas men.

A future boxing power are the Dominican Replubic, its part of Cuba and Puerto Rico. Dominicans are right behind the Puerto Ricans, in everything.
