personally, I believe he plastered his hands but I do not believe that he took a dive.
Sorry to repost the same thing again but people keep missing what seems to be a reasonable explanation for the handwraps and the dive together..:

Ok.. Lets look at the clues:

1.) The week Margarito is supposed to sign the contract for this fight he goes missing. Several boxing fans fear he was kidnapped or fell victim to drug cartels. (Anyone reading boxingscene the week before this fight was official will remember this. It seemed ridiculous then but it might make sense in light recent events) Perhaps he was busy negotiating the dive with the Arellano Drug Cartel.
2.) The Alibi: Margarito allows himself to be caught redhanded with loaded handwraps in a fight he is considered a heavy favorite. Likely an effort to draw attention away from the dive.
3.) Most fans did not even recognize the fighter in the ring that night. A lot of insiders and fans acknowledge he did not look like Margarito. Punch output was suspect.
4.) The confession: "I wanted to get knocked out!" Sounds like he went in there with a gameplan.
5.) The Arellano drug cartel is a vicious and ruthless organization: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tijuana_Cartel

    Consider it.

I love how the naive people on this site are so ignorantly dissmisive of shay business in Boxing...

Yeah, I'm the dumb one. I can't believe you people are so desperate to believe that your beloved boxing is clean that they will ignore what is blatantly obvious.

      • I think alot of the guys that are denying it being fixed are trying really hard to either over look the obvious facts or are trying to convince themselves that this type of **** doesn't go on. I don't like it as much as the next guy, but it happens and on January 24th at the Staples Center, something fishy took place.

if they want him to take a dive it would be in the cotto rematch they would make more money and the we would have cotto vs tony 3 were they can make even more money. beside the odds was not high enough to make that much money of a mosely win.

          • you guys are idiots, specially the guy with the chapelle avatar. this **** goes on, but it didn't go on in this fight. any human being with an iq above .50697890 would notice it if they watched the fight. start trying to start crazy conspiracies when margarito really wanted to win the fight so he could assure that he was one of the top fighters. he went out there to win it, and a win would have solidified his upcoming fight with cotto. he was caught cheating plus all the other facts. so stop being crazy mexicans defending your last champs cause mexicos boxers are slowly fading into oblivion.

you're gonna need more proof than hearsay and conspiracy theories.

The odds of a Mosley KO, in the 9th round, were astronomical.

So you're suggesting that the Arellano family is really thinking about their ultimate future? They run around with machine guns and sell drugs. They are not too concerned with the future.
