All the people that are on here talking about this not being a dive are trying really hard not to believe because they don't want to be disappointed. Not really giving good reasons why is wasn't.

Don`t get me wrong it would`nt surprise me if he did take a dive.I`ve heard of fights being fixed before.And i did have that thought in the back of my mind Shortly after the fight cause Marg did`nt look like his usual self.

But Its really hard to tell for real in this case cause Margarito took alot of clean shots in the Cotto and Cintron fight and Cintron is known as a big Puncher.That could have took alot out of Margarito.

When Marg tried to Pessure Shane at times, Shane neutralized him by holding and sometimes moved laterally.And Shane was doing alot of counter punching in that fight.Counter punching intimidates the hell out of fighters knowing that if they throw a punch and miss they could get countered.That makes alot fighters very cautious.

Marg may have it in his mind that if he keeps taking these hard punches it might shorten his career.I noticed Marg keeps his hands up alot.

Marg is also known as a slow starter who sometimes tries to box first then turn up the heat later.Just watch the fight With Clottey.


It could be a combination of all the wars Marg been in and Shane being faster and having a good game plan.

You were saying that there was irrefutable evidence that Margarito had thrown the fight, even though there was no evidence to support the claim.

What I'm saying is that there will never be a boxing writer on any level who will say on the record that they believe that the fight was fixed. History is written by those who record it, the media, and it is safe to say that there will be nothing in history that remembers this as a fixed fight.

Just because it's not in some ****ing newspaper doesn't mean it didn't happen.

This is what I'm also trying to say here. But, some of these clowns here are having a tough time trying to accept or understand that. Money!!!! Its all about Money!!!!! Margarito threw the fight because he was going to make more money out of losing, and make money for other people who also knew about this ****. These morons here think that Margarito is about integrity and honesty and loyalty to fans and sport and he has no reason to dive and he wouldn't have taken so much punishment and he had legacy to worry about and he has cotto fight to protect and mexican fighters don't sell out like that and this only happens in third world countries and in movies and I love boxing and this wont happen to my beloved boxing and on and on. Let some one give you a couple a mil and let me see what you'll be willing to do.

Just because it's not in some ****ing newspaper doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Journalists have a higher standard of evidence that usually leads to breakthrough stories, like a world championship fight being fixed. Is a guy who just watched the fight on HBO or Sopcast in a better position to judge whether a fight was fixed or not than someone like, I dunno, Dan Rafael who was there?

I wanna believe that it wasn't fixed too man, trust me. But that fight just had a bad smell to it from start to finish. I'm just having a hard time believing that Margarito can go from the performance against Cotto, to immediately looking shot and old in 5 months. I don't understand how he doesn't land one god damn punch but Shane is landing at will and doing whatever he wants. I know for sure those wars are taking a toll on his ass but what I saw against Mosley was something else.
