Ok.. Lets look at the clues:
1.) The week Margarito is supposed to sign the contract for this fight he goes missing. Several boxing fans fear he was kidnapped or fell victim to drug cartels. (Anyone reading boxingscene the week before this fight was official will remember this. It seemed ridiculous then but it might make sense in light recent events) Perhaps he was busy negotiating the dive with the Arellano Drug Cartel.
2.) The Alibi: Margarito allows himself to be caught redhanded with loaded handwraps in a fight he is considered a heavy favorite. Likely an effort to draw attention away from the dive.
3.) Most fans did not even recognize the fighter in the ring that night. A lot of insiders and fans acknowledge he did not look like Margarito. Punch output was suspect.
4.) The confession: "I wanted to get knocked out!" Sounds like he went in there with a gameplan.
5.) The Arellano drug cartel is a vicious and ruthless organization: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tijuana_Cartel
Consider it.
It just doesnt fit in the way you wanted it to fit in mate, It would have to involve alot of people for Margarito to take a dive including Mosley trainer Nasim Richardson who actually notice the wrap according to reports.
Margarito lost just like cotto lost nobody is unbeatable, We dont need to find excuses like "He didnt look like Margarito" in there....well he didnt look like paris hilton either.
I just hope he gets cleared on all those wrap or no wrapping rumours..

i had a talk with my friend last nite who is mexican, she is from
tampico mexico, she has been all over the world and knows a grip
about mexican gangs and the drug underworld, she doesnt follow
boxing at all but i presented her with this story about margarito
and the history behind the fight such as maragarito having one of
the best chins in boxing, he just beat the #1 welter in the division
, he was pretty much seen as unbeatable and unstoppable literally....
and how mosley was 37 past his prime and while viewed as able
to give margarito a tough fight, he wasn't looked at by many to win...
and how margarito was a 4-1 favorite...after i explained all that
she proceeded to say, i kno who kould be involved....
she simply say the "Arrelano" and my mouth dropped wide open
i kouldnt believe what she had just said....
i have been back and forth in this thread and i was never really
sold on this idea but not completely naive to its possiblities
but when she said that and began to explain to me how that family
works and how they buy athletes and arrange matches and how
they operate etc. etc.. im starting to believe more...
one thing about the fight that nobody fails to mention, was a
very honest reaction that could point to some sort of foul play going on
after a certain round, i can't remember which 1 specifically but margarito
goes back to his corner and sits down, his trainer looks at him and
say "what is wrong with you ?" "are you tired?" margarito of kourse responded
no he was fine...but that right there made me think a little....
its almost as if margarito wasn't even trying

Its difficult to take a dive in this day and age without a lot of su****ious going around it, i just dont buy it for a second because if its true then boxing is dead.
