I see alot of threads being posted that say Margarito was quoted as saying He wanted to get knocked out. I think you might have something here happy.

Marg was swinging my friend I rewatched the fight last night two times. he was missing wildly. Marg throws wild punches from all angles but he is very slow. Shane was working with a trainer that focused on D for the fight. his whole game plan was to stick and move exchange when needed not go to the ropes and clinch when he was going to receive in return. he totally took Tony out of his rythem and Tony's punch output was a clearly affected by this. he fought a perfect game plan. he did what Cotto should of did go to the body and instead of just moving away he was either pumping his jab to Tony's chest stomach or face while he was moving backwards then sometimes he would lunge forward with his right hand and dip to his left. he was very unpredictable. Stop with this no agression BS. When you are in there with a World Class Fighter and they have you timed and are catching you with the shots like Shane was throwing lets see how aggressvie you are....As for Pavlik much the same he is very green and B Hop exposed him for what he was. A straight forward easy to hit puncher. He showed him movement and tied him up picked and chose his tiems to exchange and dictated the fight. he kept off the ropes and then eventually when he hurt Kelly he pushed the action. Stop with all this talk of fights being fixed. These 2 guys got beat fair and square....Lefty

Ok.. Lets look at the clues:

1.) The week Margarito is supposed to sign the contract for this fight he goes missing. Several boxing fans fear he was kidnapped or fell victim to drug cartels. (Anyone reading boxingscene the week before this fight was official will remember this. It seemed ridiculous then but it might make sense in light recent events) Perhaps he was busy negotiating the dive with the Arellano Drug Cartel.
2.) The Alibi: Margarito allows himself to be caught redhanded with loaded handwraps in a fight he is considered a heavy favorite. Likely an effort to draw attention away from the dive.
3.) Most fans did not even recognize the fighter in the ring that night. A lot of insiders and fans acknowledge he did not look like Margarito. Punch output was suspect.
4.) The confession: "I wanted to get knocked out!" Sounds like he went in there with a gameplan.

Maybe Margs did take a dive, and Maybe he didn't.. but it's certainly worth considering.

Those three things right there cannot be avoided. Unless I hear three credible excuses from Margarito or his camp with proof, I'm going to believe this fight was fixed.

Especially the one about wanting to get knocked out. As if it was planned that he had to get knocked. I'm telling you all, the odds of Shane winning on a knock out, especially on a knock out on a certain round, was astronomical. I wish I knew about this **** before, I wouldve bet the house on it too.
