    • Margarita did not take a dive, she was knocked the phuk out, she was trying to survive but she was not throwing anything back, all we could see was the grease flying off his mullet every time Mosley landed bomb after bomb. Phoney's corner wanted to stop the fight in the 8th but I am glad they did not because I wanted to see Phoney take more punishment. Margarita with out her plaster bricks ain't nothing but a pretty decent chin bum. I hope they still let this biatch fight because it will be a joy to watch her get owned by any one and everyone in the welter weight division. Karma is going to make phoney margacheata his little biatch.

      • this theory would go against the hand wrap scandal. if marg was going to throw the fight, why would he plaster his hands? I don't believe he threw the fight.

If someone offered you a couple of mil to do something, you would jump at the chance without thinking twice.

              • The odds were 4 to 1. It is not out of the realm of possibilities. I love boxing but **** like this does happen.

He said that they are in the preliminary stages of forming a commitee to investigate the Margarito v. Mosley fight. Apparently, an overwhelming amount of the pre-fight action was put on Mosley. He said that these 'smart money' wagers are common, although two factors have piqued the Justice Department's interest.

First, the amount of the wagers placed on Mosley was in great dispaity to the number of them. He said when alot of small wagers are made immediately prior to the fight they can be more easily dismissed as 'smart money' than a handful of very large ones. On Saturday, six separate Las Vegas casinos took wagers on Mosley at approximately 7:26 PST (right before the fight) totaling more than two million dollars.

Second, the FBI in Southern California has been investigating for some time the Arellano Drug Cartel's dealings with a number of athletic events, including boxing. The Arellano family has apparently kidnapped and held at ransom the wife or children of certain fighters in an effort to get that fighter to fix the fight. A former member of Margarito's management named Roberto Ramos is currently under investigation for being associated with the Arellano cartel.

Is it possible that Margarito threw the fight? I'm sure we'll being hearing more about this.
the amount seems so little though... throw the fight for about $2mil worth of bets??

i mean with the mob involved and all the cuts, what would Margo get out of it anyway??? a few hundred grand max... why take the chance of losing your career when you are already guaranteed a clean $2 mil or so from HBO...

                  don't make much sense.

Don't try to apply logic in this thread or those like them. This is all about emotion.

Lets say you have a boxing match. Fighter A is favored over fighter B at 4 to 1 odds. You bet 2 million on fighter B at 4 to 1 odds. That means you make 8 million if fighter B wins. That is not including taking the over under bets and the bets on by decision or KO.
