I wouldn't doubt someone who is wearing any sort of hard substance/material on their hands to constantly punch somebody for such a long period of time to not cause any damage. Of course your hands will be damaged in return it's plain and basic common sense.

Hitting very hard with your hand, and having this thing in between, in my opinion can hurt your hand more than the other guy's face. What im thinking is, if a punch is well close and the hand isnt sore, the punch will still result hard as a brick, because you punch with knuckles, and if the punch is tightened it should result hard as the bone behind your skin.

Gloves really are there to preserve fighters hands so these wont break. I guess something really hard as concrete in your gloves can hurt your hand more than the other guys face. Thats why i have a feeling that stuff was there more to protect Tonys hands for the later rounds, when the gloves padding tear down...and i think it was not supposed to become hard as a brick with time. What do you guys think?

BTW...this is not an excuse thread for Margarito, i believe if there are rules they must be followed, so props to ****m for finding out the cheat. Still i believe Margo's purpose wasnt that of killing his opponent with bricks to his face, but more that of preserving his hands.
Look at it like brass knuckles, when you hit someone with brass knuckles your hand stings, but the person getting hit feels alot more pain than you do.

i never used brass knuckles, but i see those things have the lower part made to sit on your palm/inside of hand. So i assume that when you hit, you wont feel the hit back on your knucles/fingers, but it will be smothered by your palm that handles the weapon. Im i wrong?

If he wanted to protect his own knuckles why couldnt he use soft padding like everyone else, as far as Margarito hurting himself by doing what he did, I seriously doubt it (Brass knuckles as an example wont hurt the puncher). Margarito could have easily placed the softer non hardening wraps against his knuckles and skin while placing the outer layer or shell with the hardening substance to hurt what he hits without hurting himself.

The on thing I'm really curious about is if Margarito saved his wraps and or gloves from previous fights and if the investigators will be able to get to them before he does. (especially his big fights).

a real cast is all around your hand and part of the arm tho, is not a solid piece sitting there on your fist under your wraps. anyway i can understand if some of this plaster spreads from the wet piece it can tighten all the wrapping

This is what I thought when I heard it, punching with a plaster block between your knuckles and somebodys face will probably break your hand.
