    during the Cotto Margarito fight

The Commentators were saying that although Margarito's punches were not very fast they were really powerfull.

Could that be due to the plaster by any chance or are there any other slow punching boxers (apart from heavyweights) in differant divisions like this?

Its kind of hard to explain what i mean. There punches are slower than most guys in the division but pack a real punch.

Honestly I can't think of anyone outside of the heavyweights with slow power. Maybe Adamek.

I always thought Alexis Arguello was a relatively slow handed guy, not the slowest but definitely not the fastest, he had a huge punch though.

Its a forum where people come on and discuss topical boxing points. If this genuine question is of no interest to you then dont read the post.

If i or anyone else wants to talk about Margarito or any other boxer we are perfectly entitled to. Just ignore the posts

george foreman had slow punches to but u could see he put all of his weight behind his punches. In the cotto fight margaritto was throwing arm punches just like in the mosley fight , but in the cotto fight those arm pucnhes did allot of damage.

i do believe that mosley is made of solid stuff but so is Cotto. Has Margarito always been like that? a slow hard puncher. I cant remember him always being known as a big hitter untill recently but the forman one is a good call.

I cant think of many others in the same category

i dont know about the plaster stuff but i believe Mosley is much stronger than Cotto in the chest area. Mosley always looks like granite and Cotto looks more soft around his ribs.

In his cotto fight i think Mosley had the wrong game plan, he started boxing him without really make Cotto feel his power, and maul him in the same attitude he did against Margarito. Also, he was headhunting too much believing maybe Cotto had a weak chin (seeing his previous fights at 140).

Back to the topic i believe plaster of not, Mosley can take punishment to the body better than Cotto. Also, he can smother punches and defend himself better, which is very important.

JCC wasn't very fast and had "slow power", there have been quite a few guys like this in boxing history.

Sometimes when you see a fighter throw punches, you think they don't look strong but ask the guy who's getting hit and he will tell you differently.

Fernando Vargas is said to have that type of power. DLH said Vargas punches were much harder than Mosleys, he said they had a "thump" to them.
