Yup,good thread!!Mosley, turned back time and showed what great fighters do,He will always be remembered for this upset!!Im just waitin for Floyd to come back against a prime, elite welterweight and prove how good he really is,I know he is a prodigy of boxing science, but his legacy needs to be completed with a dance that would leave sceptics,"like myself",eating our words doubting how good he really is!!FIGHT AN ELITE WELTERWEIGHT,ITS THAT SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!Comment

C'mon dude...Ricky Hatton a career defining fight??? If we're talking about financially, more than likely yea. But who in the hell picked Hatton to beat Floyd (I know I didn't lol). Floyd and his camp knew exactly what they were getting into. You got a huge draw like Hatton with little risk, of course they were gonna take that fight...who the **** wouldn't??? LOL. Guys like Margarito and Mosley were calling him out in similar fashion since 2004, but Hatton calls him out and in the matter of weeks the fight is made?
Don't get it twisted, wins over Oscar, Corrales, Hatton, etc are great...nobody in their right mind should deny that. I just think a lot of his fans become naive and make it seem as if Floyd has peaked, because if that is REALLY the case, trust me when I tell you Floyd won't be heralded as high in the years to come as his fans make it seem.
Floyd is still very young with a lot left to give. I just think it's time now to put his skills up against any of the top fighters right now regardless of if everyone thinks he'd win, because as recent history has shown us...ANYTHING is possible.Comment

before the fight hatton was suppose to be the man to beat floyd because of his pressure...hatton is the 140 kingpin floyd was accused of ducking..lets not get all forgetful now that floyd knocked his ass out and put the only lose on his record..floyds body is breaking down and its well documented..the man is a legendC'mon dude...Ricky Hatton a career defining fight??? the author made the argument that floyd hasn't shocked the world because he hasn't fought anybody that was favored over him besides corrales( who by the way...turned out tob overrated). So out of all the people you named above...who would be favored over floyd?regardless if the poster is a pac fan or floyd fan, he brings up the point i've been making for years.
Floyd has not had a defining fight ala leonard, ali, hagler, etc...and if he chooses not to take the riskier fights, that's what he'll be remembered for, no doubt about it.
It would be different if the ww division looked like the heavyweight division today, then i can understand floyd not fighting anyone worth while. But damn, the ww division is arguably the most talented division in boxing, period.
Floyd vs cotto
floyd vs mosley
floyd vs clottey
floyd vs berto
floyd vs paul williams
floyd vs margarito
i mean...who in their right mind would not want to see any of these fights?? Three of the six should've happened already.Comment

It crazy to me how ****** these dudes sound....they say
Ricky Hatton is a Junior Welterweight because he fought most of his career there...
But Floyd has had 39 Fights in which 31 fights were at 135 and under.
Only 8 Fights were at 140 and up.
Ricky Hatton had more fights at 140 AND UP then Floyd did...
And then they shoot themselves in the foot by saying
Ricky Hatton never fought any good welterweight champions.
And Floyd hasnt fought any REAL welterweight champions.
So that leads to the Conclusion that Floyd's Run at Welterweight just like Ricky Hatton's wasnt impressive....Because they never fought anybody....
SO WHATS THE POINT OF FIGHTING FLOYD AT WELTERWEIGHT IF HE NEVER FOUGHT NOBODY?
WHY WOULD YOU FIGHT A MEDICORE WW, WHEN YOU COULD FIGHT THE "REAL WELTERWEIGHTS" like you guys like to say..!!!
STOP HATING, and give respect where respect is due.
Floyd has done something that hardly nobody has ever done.
Walk away from the sport on top, and people cant stand it.
He is like barry sanders in that reguard.
He left when they was no doubt who the best was and is.
Their is no unfinish business, becuase their are no undisputed champions out there to fight.
The only fight that makes sense right now is Pacquaio. because he is the pound 4 pound #1 fighter in the sport.
everybody else in the sport need to make a name for themselves.
move up 4 weight classes, AND BECOME A Undisputed Champion in 3 Divisions (The Ring Belt)
Standards:
I dont understand How people constantly hold Floyd to the latter part of his career. Like His Career started in 2006.
People act Like 1996-2005 Never Took Place
