Richard Schaefer, chief negotiator for Ricky Hatton, just called to say that the boxer has signed the paperwork, making it official that his fight with Manny Pacquiao is on.
The article doesn't say whether the contract he has signed was for a 50/50 split (as Hatton's team still claims) or 52/48 (as Pac's team claims) - maybe we'll never know. Not that it matters, the only thing that matters is that the fight happens. But someone is bull****ting, so I can't help being curious ...
apart from mayweather his competition has been a level below pacquiaos
His win over Kostya Tszyu was comparable with any individual Pac win. The difference is that Pac has had a lot more such wins.
The ease with which he beat Castillo was also very commendable - the people who claimed Castillo was shot after the fight weren't saying that before the fight.
Even in the case of Malignaggi there has been a lot of bull**** after-the-event revisionism - a lot of US boxing writers thought Malignaggi would outbox Hatton. And most boxing experts rated Malignaggi as the #2 Jnr. Welter leading up to the fight.

I'm not claiming Hatton's résumé is comparable with Pac's - it isn't. I did say that "The difference is that Pac has had a lot more such wins." I was just objecting to a post that I thought was too extreme.
