Besides the knock down, Raul Caiz Sr did the worst job of any referee I have seen in recent memory. He was acting like Joe Cortez out there; trying to get camera time.

margarito is a tough SOB and the ref gave him the benefit of the doubt, as they usually do with top level fighters

margarito is all heart man, his trainer wanted to stop the fight, and margarito shook his head and said he wanted to go on. no legs. probably seeing double. knew he was going to get KO'd. thats courage, i dunno why the guy gets so much hate, the wrap thing hasnt been proven and many other fighters would have shook their head said no more
