Very true, you usually fight in the champs' backyard, but if he KO's Haye in his own country, that would make it much sweeter for him.

We've all seen Germany before. The white ring and everything. It's boring. Besides, the PPV buys in Britain would be huge, and every great champ needs to branch out and fight elsewhere once in a while. People criticise Calzaghe for not fighting outside of Britain during his 168 run, yet Wlad should stay sheltered in Germany? Variety is a good thing.

....I guess that's the angle they are looking for. Still, you see what fighting in the UK did for Ricky Hatton when I thought he had no chance against Zoo. Haye doesn't have that sort of following though and certainly don't expect him to win.

Well it's not like Wlad has fought all his fights in Germany. A lot of his big fights he fought in USA.

...Wlad has fought in the US a ton. I just find it odd that he's going to fight a guy who's nothing more than a contender on his home soil in what will be an extremely hostile environment.

Honestly now that I think about it I don't think it makes much of a difference that he's fighting in UK. I highly doubt Wlad would get affected in any way by a crowd booing him or something like that, robbery on points is out of the question since it will probably end by KO, even if in some weird way it goes to decision Wlad rarely loses any rounds. Only thing I could think of is a BS stoppage. Besides, the crowd maybe would be chanting for Haye etc etc, but once Haye eats the first right hand while coming in and gets stunned, the stadium will be silent.

I agree, the fight should be in Germany.

After all, Wlad is the champ with three belts - Haye isn't even a mandatory.

Granted, he has fought in the States before, but recently it's been pretty much all Germany. If a champ is really that good and confident of victory, he should dip his toes into dangerous waters every now and again to flex his muscles - i.e. Wlad stepping out in front of 20,000+ crazy Brit fans, just for a change of scenery.

Besides, Hatton did it against Urango and Castillo.

He fought Calvin Brock, undefeated in USA, he fought Sam Peter undefeated in USA, lately he's fought in Germany. That doesn't matter, where do you think he should've fought Hasim, or Thompson? Germany would bring the most money in both fights.

The champ should have the right to choose the location - Wlad has three heavyweight belts, Haye has none.

The referee in the Barrett fight, Davis, was terribly biased in favor of the home fighter David Haye. There should be a neutral referee for this fight. I don't care who the judges are, it won't be going the distance anyway.
