What I want to know is what Williams or his camp did that upset Arum so badly? Talking about shooting yourself in the foot ...The second piece of evidence was a letter dated August 4, rejecting Goossen’s offer. Arum tried to make a fight between Williams and Pavlik, but the two sides were never able to reach an agreement. More so than the experience from the Pavlik negotiations, Arum refused to do business with Williams’ advisor Al Haymon.
"Thank you for your letter of July 31, 2008 regarding Paul Williams. After the terrible experience I was subjected to by Paul Williams, his camp and advisor in connection with a (Kelly) Pavlik fight, I have absolutely no intention whatsoever to be involved in any fight with Mr. Williams. Accordingly, your proposal is in all respects rejected and I would request that you do no contact me again regarding Mr. Williams," Arum wrote in the letter.

Look honestly I don't hate on the kid he has decent talent, now his promoter wants to put him on a pedestal where he will never be. Not because no one will fight him but because he will never reach it.
the dude is a 6'2" tall with a 82" reach and doesn't know how to use it nor does he know how to fight tall and don't give me that: "he likes to battle it out on the inside" bull****. He gets hit cleanly often by way smaller guys so what do u think will happen when he faces bigger guys. the only thing he has is a high punch output but most punches are sloppy so really up to this day i don't see what some people see on this guy except for being a freak who can somehow drop to 147Comment

Realistically, mosley should have no chance against williams. PW's height and reach advantage should be too much for him. What might give mosley a chance is the fact that williams loves to fight and throw tons of punches. In doing so he sometimes gives up his height. Fighting like this has left him open for counters. Forrest and wright were successful against mosley because they were able to use their reach/height (also mixing in offense accordingly) respectively to keep him at bay and contain his offense. Going to war with him, which pw is sometimes inclined to do, would make the fight much more difficult than it has to be.Comment

He has a bad track record against taller fighters with jabs, in fact it doesn't matter how tall you are, he has problems with fighter with really good jabs period, Williams' jab isn't that good, I don't think it's good enough to really bother Mosley.I agree Williams-Wright is a pick 'em fight. Mosley doesn't have a great track record against tall fighters, but with Nazeem Richardson to help him with his game plan, who knows? It could be a real classic, like Leonard-Hearns. Given Mosley's reputation for never ducking anyone, it would be a terrible shame if he were to duck Williams. I hope he doesn't, as much for the sake of his reputation as for the sake of boxing, which needs the best to fight the best.
Indeed, I'd really like to see this fight at 147.Comment

Any 147lber who tries to **** with this Inspector Gadget lookin ass will have problems. lol That goes without seein or sayin.
But watch Paul get worked over by Wright and then run straight back to 147
If Winky still has anything left, and I'm sure he does, I don't see Paul gettin past that Optimus Prime defense. Winkys a thick body with a nice Jab. If Paul ends up runnin into the brick wall, I bet he gets picked apart. Margarito put a hurtin on Williams late, so I actually wonder if Winky can take Williams out before 12.Comment
