**** the 'boxing is dead' bull****. And **** DLH for goin to do the ******ass MMA show and missin his homey's victory. This was a good nite for boxing, despite the dirty shadow that falls on Marg's camp. SSM just jumped to legendary status if he didn't have it already imo.

      Mexicans are keeping boxing alive...
      I didn't realize I made a racial thread........

What does it matter who made up the majority of the crowd? I'm just glad that the seats are filled.

And your last statement is pretty bold.

Everybody packs the house when they fight in their hometown, or close to it.

Whoa. I did not know it was that bad. I'll read up on it now.

Bernard Hopkins was on his feet for most of the fight, applauding Shane's actions in the ring.

And this is only our 2nd fight card of the year.

Anybody wanna tell me about how boxing is "dead" again?
Thanks i was hoping we still had some true boxing fans who brought up the fact this was indeed a great fight.

Yeah, the controversy about the handwraps and Shane's past steroid use is overshadowing the fact that it was an epic fight and atmosphere, regardless.

Everybody knows LA's Mexican population live and die for boxing. It's no surprise that the crowd was 90% pro-Margarito.

But your statment about Mexicans keeping boxing alive is ridiculous. They help out a lot, just like the Brits do with Hatton and Calzaghe, just like the people from the East Coast do with Hopkins and Pavlik, just like the Puerto Ricans do with Cotto and Lopez.

Boxing is alive because of all of us, not just one particular group.
