What a night for boxing

Tonights fight was awesome. I know everyones is anti Margarito at the moment, but there is no quit in the guy. he took monsterous shots. really sickening ones, they would have demolished anyone else had they took them as flush as Marg did. but it was that early body work that I think did him in. that first right hand to the body that hurt him was the beginning of the end.

I liked the HBO format change a lot. looked good. AND...no national anthems!!! straight to the fight, (well after some prefight buildup) I love it.

and yall should stop accusing Margarito of being a cheater until we have some real proof that his hand wraps were cheaterfied. never know, could be just a misunderstanding

and whats more, Fedruary is going to be full of outstanding fights and cards. I really cant wait. whats icing on the cake is that I get to go to the HBO Triple header on the 14th
I really love boxing. so unpredictable, and so much fun to watch.

Agree on all points, except needing "more proof" on Margarito. The man got caught with an entire ziplock bag full of plaster of paris, I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to see what was going on there.

Yep it was good night for Boxing. Especially since they were saying that was the biggest crowd in Staples center history. Not just for boxing, but for everthing held there. Then the fight was awesome. I mean it was pretty one sided, but in an unbelievable type of way because who knew Shane was going to KO Marg. Then there was all sorts of celebrities there. To top that off it wasn't an Oscar fight that produced this.

When the schedule was coming together, I sorta had this feeling. Then last week's fight delivered, and tonight was epic. To go on ESPN.com and see Shane Mosely on the cover was satisfying too. The bad economy might have been the best thing for boxing. It's like it lit a fire under the promoters.

Yeah, Brto/Collazo was a hell of a start to this year. And we've got Darchinyan/Arce and Pavlik/Rubio, Cotto/Jennings next month. It's only getting better.

I have to say I would hate to sit next to Hopkins at a fight, much less behind him. He's always on his feet barking orders to the Golden Boy fighters.
