Why Has Antonio Margarito Never Won A Lineal Title

That is fact my man. Margo was to get the winner of spinks/mayorga, spinks avoided him. When zab beat spinks, margo was still there, that was the first, but the the last time zab avoided margo. After the baldie/gatti fight, it was plain to see in baldie's own words that margo would not get a shot at him.

Those are facts.

Well Marg got his first title back in early 2002, thats a heck of alot of time to accomplish a lineal title, Judah didnt get it until 2005.

He has had his chances but didnt take those bouts, when he won his first WBO title it was a vacated title, when he beat Cintron for the IBF strap Cintron had got it first because it was a vacated belt. When he beat Cotto for the WBA title, Cotto won it because it was vacated.

Ive given props to Margarito in other threads and said how he is more skillful than given credit for, this thread is to those who argue about other fighters not being linear, know your history.

Did you read my post at all fool!?! I said that it's not on Floyd. There were four other linear champions between when Margarito won his first belt and when Floyd became linear champion. Go back and review RECENT boxing history. Learn a thing or two about the sport you follow enough to post on a message board about.

Don't just jump on the anti-Floyd ****waggon and agree with any pro-Margarito position that comes out on the board because it's not necessarily back up by facts. Blaming Mayweather for Margarito not getting a linear title shot is like Aaron Pryor blaming Ray Leonard for Pryor never being the linear 147 lb champion.

I didn't say anything about Floyd in that post.

I just asked what fight did he turn down since there were several champions in the time that Margarito won the WBO belt and lost it.


So, again, who was it that Margarito turned down for any opportunity at the lineal title?

Oh and not to metion, before spinks, zab, and baldie came into the picture, mayorga was supposed to fight margo. Guess you don't remember the shirts margo and his team had made that said "Your next", with mayorga's pic on them...

I wasn't going to touch this either, but here we go. Please list all of these small fighters margo has faced...If you mean at welter, you are wrong. Cotto was the smallest at 5'7, margo has face plenty of big/tall welters.
