Why Has Antonio Margarito Never Won A Lineal Title

He has had his chances but didnt take those bouts, when he won his first WBO title it was a vacated title, when he beat Cintron for the IBF strap Cintron had got it first because it was a vacated belt. When he beat Cotto for the WBA title, Cotto won it because it was vacated.

Ive given props to Margarito in other threads and said how he is more skillful than given credit for, this thread is to those who argue about other fighters not being linear, know your history.

He was never given the opportunity. The guy in your avatar had the lineal title and avoided him

Not a hate thread, Brian Kenny is one who used to get on Floyd about Lineal titles, he made such an emphasis on them, when its more about who you fought.

That's not true at all. Margarito was at welterweight waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before Mayweather. When Margarito won his first belt at 147 Mayweather was the linear 130 lb champion. Don't put that on Mayweather.

Margarito is making opportunities for himself now and it's not cool to rip him for taking the long road, but you putting it on Mayweather is just ignorant ****. You're better than that.

The lineage has been broken since Mayweather retired (unless he comes back). It's not like he didn't try to get Mayweather in the ring with him.

True when all Floyd really had to do was beat Sharmba Mitchell, Margo was there long enough to get that Ring Title.
