You only need to be able to see well enough to make out your opponet fairly well.

i was going to post this in the training forum, i have my medical on tuesday and im extremly short sighted in my right eye so i was worried that they would fail me

That is strange, I hate wearing my contacts to do anything. I can imagine the pain they would cause if you get hit with a grazing blow to the eye. It's wierd though, you'd think he would just get laser correction surgery, but it was clear that those lenses he had where prescription and magnified his eyes. Maybe he only needs them to read or something.

I had to wear my contacts in the ring. My eyesight was so bad that I couldn't see facial expressions or even tell if I stunned a guy. It also through off my depth perception. I've had lasek a few years ago, too bad I didn't have it back then...

Didn't you feel uncomfortable somthing could happen? I mean I've had my contacts start to hurt from like the wind shifting them, I'd be scared as hell to wear them if I ever boxed.

It depends how bad your vision is. Me, I'm blind without my glasses. I didnt think about it then, but it may hav impacted my boxing when I did it. I have contacts now, but I figure they'd get knocked out, no?

I kno they normally do, but sometimes Ive seen them just talk and do like a countdown type of thing & only show the main event fight...

its suppose to come on at 10pm.. so I doubt we have an undercard, let me know
