That's for Staples I'm sure. There were over 21,000 at Judah/Cotto. Anyway, it shows you that the fans will come out if you actually put fights in fighters' hometowns and charge tickets at a good price. People come out to see Spinks fight ffs.

The Houston card from last fall where Diaz fought Katsidis is another one that had over 20k. It just provides a better overall atmosphere to the fight. I think fighters feed off the crowd too.

If all goes well, Cotto/Marg II will probably pack MSG to the rafters.

keep the fights out of vegas, (except for money may, peso pac, hatton, and delahoya) thats what hurts boxing for the fans. not all fans can go to the middle of a desert to see those fights.

Exactly, Chris Arreola can fill CBBA in Ontario. Margarito can fill Staples or the Honda (Arreola could probably eventually fill those arenas). Juan Diaz can fill the Toyota Center. Miguel Cotto can fill Madison Square Garden. Tomasz Adamek can fill the Prudential Center and Devon Alexander will eventually be able to fill the ScottTrade Center the way Cory Spinks used to.

Then you have guys like Robert Guerrero, Andre Ward, Fernando Guerrero and Danny Jacobs who have fans and if they were put in front of arena crowds they'd start selling out those arenas. There are a lot of arena attractions in boxing. Plenty of fights could get 20,000+ fans. The only reason so few do is because you can make more money getting 10,000-12,000 in a major casino. That's why Cotto-Margarito was in a casino and not at Staples or Madison Square Garden.
