Luis Collazo: "The Andre Berto Fight Wasn't Close"

Last weekend, Luis Collazo felt that he should have been announced as the winner when the three scorecards were read for his title shot at undefeated WBC champion Andre Berto. The scores of 116-111, 114-113 and 114-113 gave Berto the unanimous decision victory. [details]

Its wasnt close, but the judges favored the champion. Collazo won the respect of boxing fans so I dont think the loss hurt him in that respect but he deserved the win.

He said just a few days ago that there was no way Berto won more than 6 rounds, that means he at least thought Berto could have won 6 rounds, if that isn't close, I don't know what is.

He sounds like a dumb ass when he says the fight wasn't close, maybe he should take his biased eyes off the tv-screen. Maybe the judges didn't count his pitter-patter punches that looked weaker then my boys calzaghes punches. Since atleast joes slaps send his opponents bouncing off the ropes, Collazo slaps, berto just ate them and laughed.

Yeah, I remember that... You just owned Collazo.

you truly saw a different fight. and its ****en annoying when boxin fans complain when a fighter believes he won the fight as if they were the ones in the ring. if anyone has the right to complain, its the person who was in the ring risking their health by fighting, not the one sitting in front of their computer risking their health by eating cheetos.

I'm disappointed in Luis on this one. He said after the fight that it was close, and all of the scores should've been 114-113. I thought Collazo won myself, I had him up by 2 points at the end of the 12th. He won a lot of fans that night against Berto, I don't see how complaining about the decision is going to help him.

He does deserve a rematch though.

Luis Collazo admitted it was close not once but twice, now the jack ass has the nerves to say it wasn't close. I'm sorry but did anyone actually count those pitter-patter flurries that didn't do much to berto like those 20 punches to bertos body that looked like they had 0 power on them. People crack jokes on Calzaghe, but atleast calzaghes weakest slaps have his opponent backing up, those pitter-patter shots from Collazo didn't even have berto backing up.

I think Collazo totally beleived that it was 114-113 either way after the fight but he probably rewatched it with his boys hyping him up like he won every round and he saw Lederman give him the fight by 3pts so now it probably changed his mind. I personaly had Collazo winning 114-113. I scored the fight exactly like Lederman "except" I gave Berto the 7th round where Collazo did absolutely nothing. I dont know what Lederman was looking at that round. That made it 6 rounds apiece for me with Berto winning the last 2 rounds but Collazo winning the fight since Berto got the point deduction.

I wouldve gave Collazo the win in the legal sense but in my mind I wouldve scored it a draw because I thought that point deduction was B.S. and Im a guy who hates holding and am a big Collazo fan but you dont take a point away in the 4th round of a huge fight for something you see in nearly every fight. That was garbage. Therefore it really shouldve been a draw
