    It would have been a helluva fight, but I think Toney had too much counterpunching abilities for Calzaghe and a ridiculously good chin. Even if you win a round on workrate, knockdowns make rounds 10-8.

      the two southpaws that Toney fought that came to mind are Michael Nunn and Vassily Jirov. Nunn was a fantastic boxer, Jirov threw a huge amount of punches and was a nasty strong body puncher.

      Toney knocked out Nunn, almost knocked out Jirov in the 12th.

      the two counterpunchers that Calzaghe fought that come to mind are Robin Reid and Hopkins. overall, theyre probebly the most comparable fighters to James Toney that Calzaghe fought.

      Calzaghe went to controversial split decisions with both of them. I had him losing the Reid fight, winning the Hopkins one by 1 point.

      so...what does that tell you?
