Shane is just like Roy Jones Jr. all the ability in the world to be a great boxer, but they throw one punch at a time.
The key is not if he is a boxer or a slugger. He has both skills but he can box very well. Against Cotto he underestimated Miguel's punching power and tried to go toe to toe. He won't make that mistake against Margarito and if he does the fight will end pretty quickly. He has to be focused and I really believe he will be.

He has better skills at this point than Roy. Roy's whole career was built around his speed. Speed is gone and so are the wins for Jones. I'm not saying Shane is a world beater but he does have enough skill to win against Antonio.

Has anyone ever seen Margarito even staggered? I don't pretend to be the authority on Toni, but I can't remember ever seeing him even staggered.

Margarito might be able to hurt Shane to the body. I don't see him hurting him up top, though I do think Shane can dent that chin a little by catching Margo between punches.

Santos rocked him for a quick second at 154, but other than that, not really.

Danny Perez knocked him down. But that was a decade ago.

Shane can box, but once he gets hit, he abandons his gameplan everytime. IMO Cotto was a better boxer and puncher, than Shane. Cotto has more power than Shane as well. Also name 1 fighter outside Winky and Forrest, that Shane has faced with more power than Margs?? Keep in mind both of those fighters beat Shane and Forrest who has one hand power (right) knocked him down. Now take into account that was about 5 to 7 years ago and Margs has "2" hand POWER, with a higher work rate than Winky or Forrest. I'm telling you, this is gonna get ugly for Mosley.

Shane Mosley is just not active enough to get the decision in this fight, and IMO I don't think he can really hurt Margarito, I watched the Cintron fight and was watching him take the hard flush shots and they did nothing to him, Cotto could not hurt him, so I don't think Mosley can...he was a power puncher at lightweight, not welterweight..so I think this fight will come down to work rate..and that's what will win the fight for Margarito...I think it will be a close fight but with Mosley not doing enough to take a decision.

Shane approached the Cotto fight wrong and he will be the first one to say he underestimated Cotto's power. But when he changed his gameplan in the second half of that fight he looked like a totally different fighter.

I might have posted in the wrong thread because I don't think Shane can knock out Margarito. There is no chance of that. But I do think he can outbox him for a split decision. Shane has faced the best and only really got owned by Forrest in their first fight. (Shane has had problems with Forrest since his Amateur days) That should tell you something, that Shane is a game fighter and will show it again on Saturday night. This is not going to be a one sided fight it will get ugly for both men at some points in this fight.

I've never seen the Mosley knockdown against Forrest... was it bad or more of a flash knockdown? I know the guy has a chin comparable to Toni's.
