I was probably a lightweight and my friend (and opponent) was a cruiser or heavyweight. It quite a mismatch and resembled something like George Foreman vs Amir Khan...

I just have a bunch of these little clips that gives people a glimpse into the life of a pro boxer... it's just something guys who boxed competitively before easily recognize, that's all.

Your trainer asks you afterwards what you weighed in at and chances are you'll say "One sixty five" because, in your mind, that extra three quarters of a pound somehow doesn't count because it couldn't even find a way to make itself a full pound. If you were 166, well, OK. But 165 and three quarters? In your mind, that's 165 all the way.
Hey Ice how's it goin? always wondered how difficult it is for a fighter to come in on the money, right at the limit and if they do come in too far under the limit how detrimental can that be? Im sure it is subjective but just curious.

Lol, random thread but still... I know what you mean. I am not a fighter though... but I am planning to start boxing this Tuesday . I know what you mean though... because of of the 165 that is the only thing that sticks in your head because you don't pay too much attention to the 0.75 bit.
