Anycase, I wouldn't call it Hagler vs Hearns, but no doubt it's gonna be a great fight.

Ya'll need to lighten up a little bit. A lot of you come off envious of MMA but try hiding it by ****ting on it with no knowledge of the sport or its fighters whatsoever.
No, MMA is cool... it gets me through the day when boxing isn't on... but you can't ask me to like Dana White.... I'll never learn to like that guy. Rashad Evans is the man though. My older brothers and I have been watching since UFC 2, that was the first to go to VHS as UFC 1 wasn't released until long after

It’s not often when a great champion in one division leaps up to battle a great champion in a heavier division. Last month in boxing, Manny Pacquiao made the jump to soundly defeat Oscar De Hoya—this month, the focus is on B.J. Penn, UFC lightweight champion who will jump from 155 to 170 to take on Georges St. Pierre, UFC welterweight champ . . . Click here for more

I'm pretty sure Bj Penn is not on the top of his game and not in his prime. So.. I fail to see how this is the case.

I usually don't get drug into the Boxing vs MMA thing, but when I woke up this morning and the first thing I read online was the BJP-GSP thing being compared to the WAR..... I was at a loss for words. That comparision is just ******.

I'm an MMA lover as well as a boxing lover. It's just advertising and hyping, and while White is pretty deserving of most of the insults he receives, one thing you can't say is that he's not a great advertiser. UFC has blown up in the last few years and now two of the elite, elite fighters are going at it.

I don't really like MMA but both those fighters have skills, you'd have to be an ******* not 2 see that.

No fight will ever come anything close to what Hagler/Herans was, the comparison is invalid. Nothing can compare to the 8 minutes that was The WAR.

That's exactly the point I'm trying to make. They are just trying to exploit the legendary WAR in an effort to steal more boxing fans and make more money.

There is only so much money to be spent out there on combative type sports and Dana's trying to kill boxing himself in an effort monopolize the market.

                  nonsense.

bj penn is the #1 p4p mma fighter in the world.

he'll kill st. pierre in the rematch.

penn could beat fedor if they fought.

You think he's gonna beat GSP? GSP's gotten better since thier first fight you know. He can wrestle with the best wrestlers in the world. And this fight is 5 rounds. I think BJP will gas and get outmaneuvered late. And this fight should never be compared to the WAR!

This is probably the most interesting fight in the UFC which can be made, and without doubt the two most skilled fighters in the organization and two of the top 5 in the world. This and Fedor-Arlovski are the only upcoming fights really worth paying attention to (though Barnett-Yvel should be decent as well). Honestly I'd say this one deserves the hype, I can't see another matchup in the years to come which could equal this one.
