These things are always a polemic... what about the "maybe" option, at least?Comment

I'm no fan of Joes style, but i'd love him to fight at least once more, only because it was clear to anyone watching his last fight that he's definately got at least one more left in the tank.
Whilst i like to see fighters go out on top, im always a little disapointed to see them go when it's clear they've got the attributes to carry on a llittle longerComment

Do you care or want Joe Calzaghe to come back? I don't like the senseless bashers on NSB so I hope people don't think that's what I'm attempting to do with this thread. However, at this stage I see a press release about Joe Calzaghe considering a comeback and I think.. Who gives a ****. He's rarely given Non Calzaghe fans the bouts they wanted to see. IMO his showboating is lame/ obnoxious, and he's recently been quoted as speaking negatively about the sport that has given him so much and made him millions. Finally, I doubt he'll take any fight that gets any true fans excited. Of course I always want to see boxing stars fight, but in this situation I wouldn't care if this guy stayed retired. I respect that Calzaghe is a great fighter so I'd appreciate if the flamers stay off the thread. Poll to follow.Comment

Its boxing so I definitely wanna see elite fighters fight but.. I didn't like the Roy Jones selection/ensuing showboating against a clearly shot opponent, and I didn't like him ripping on boxing after it's made him rich and famous. I don't think there's any chance he's taking Dawson. That's a majorly dangerous fight when he's so close to retiring undefeated.
Joe looks like a prime toss pot when he Sboats.Comment

I have a feeling even his big fans cringe a bit. I think that showboating although still kinda lame/disrespectful would have been decent had that been against a game opponent.. but ultimately it just really drove home the point that RJJ was in poor condition. I wonder what Calzaghe would do to the Tito that RJJ owned. Calzaghe could get down and hump the canvas get back up and KO him.Comment
