Kessler and lacy were both world-class fighters when Joe fought them, don't blame joe because you idiots overrated jeff lacy's abilities. Almost every single American writer and fan picked Lacy to win by KO, shows how much Americans know abouting boxing.

Only after Lacy gets brain damage from Calzaghe, do Americans open their loud mouths and say Lacy was overrated. The overrated fighter you all picked to KO calzaghe.

I wouldn't doubt if he fought RJJ again or maybe even Hopkins. I don't like either fight because he's already beaten both, but at least a Hopkins rematch would be interesting.
he said it has to be "the right fight" he won't fight a nobody......

like i said, he said "the right fight." nothing about glen johnson says that. it'll be a huge star, or somebody somewhat known, not a guy w/ 12 losses and 2 draws. it'll be hopkins or dawson, cuz both are willing to fight joe in his backyard, i'm leaning toward dawson cuz i don't see calzaghe taking a chance at hopkins.

roy jones knows to stick to fighting C fighters.....what's he supposed to say after he gets his ass beat like he did? of course he's gonna say he wants a rematch. in reality, he doesn't want to get embarrassed again. he's fighting a nobody in fla this year, and hopefully he'll retire shortly afterwards.

and he shouldn't have to. Dawson doesn't have the name yet for Joe to take interest, plus the fight with Johnson still has many questioning him. However, Dawson is the most meaningful fight out there. All I'm saying is that a "farewell" to boxing fight in your hometown is one where you select a big name. I don't see Joe even considering risk in the factor. He'd fight Robocop if it would sell out the stadium, and probably beat him. It just so happens that the biggest names aren't the toughest challengers. Lets just, as a group, all cross our fingers its either Dawson or retirement.

Come on man... leave "yank" talk out of it haha... I'm as American as apple pie, and proud we went the way of the revolutionary (unlike Australia and Canada) haha... I'm not a HUGE Joe fan, but I do have a fully functioning brain, which allows me to see and aknowledge that he is the best LHW in the sport... period, and he's never lost a fight! On paper, or in reality.

Since dominating Roy Jones Jr. last November in New York, Calzaghe has been taking some time off to consider his future options. During his last few interviews, he seemed to be leaning in the direction of retirement, but now he seems to be open for one last fight. [details]
If Calzaghe wants to go out in a blaze, fighting Chad Dawson would be a good way to do that but if he really wants to impress people and leave NO doubt that he was the best, he should fight experienced & always dangerous, come forward with aggression Glen Johson! Johnson gave Dawson all he could handle the first time & he has been fighting for a long time & to my knowledge has wanted Calzaghe & Joe has ducked him 3 times. In my opinion I feel Johnson has the style to nullify Calzaghe's speed.

Calzaghe will keep throwing slap punches & Johnson will keep coming forward throwing solid blows. Both their styles are about aggression & work rate but I see Johnson being too much for Calzaghe. A technical fighter doesn't have that great of chance against Joe (BHOP/JONES) Dawson may be able to pull it off because he's young, fast & strong but will probably fight Joe in a technical way which gives Joe the advantage to throw then slap punches in bunches. I think Glen should be his last fight & victory (If he can win) if he wants to prove anything to his doubters.

idk...i think he'd have a relatively easy time with glen johnson. he's took quick, johnson is too slow. might be interesting for a few rounds, but it gets dull b/c calzaghe is too smart to brawl with johnson, which is the only chance johnson has. so if calzaghe wants an easy fight, against a good fight, he picks johnson.

calzaghe just seems like to continue fighting, it has to be a "meaningful" fight. i don't see him going the rjj route, and picking an easy opponent, just for a farewell bout at home. judging by "the right fight," i think we know what that means. it'll be a big name. hopkins or dawson, but im leaning towards dawson, cuz i dont see calzaghe wanting to fight hopkins again.

if calzaghe was just planning a "farewell" bout for the home crowd, he'd have said that after the jones fight......

IMO, this will be a big one, dawson isn't a SUPERSTAR yet, but he is no slouch, and is recognized as the best LHW. and unlike lacy, dawson is a skilled fighter, not a power-shot artist.

I don't know my dude. Glen Johnson was putting a Heavy beating on a very young, strong, technical guy like Chad Dawson to the point that people are still saying he won. I saw the fight & Glen was giving Dawson all he could handle.
Joe Calzaghe has been dropped in both of his fights in the early rounds by 1 punch from Hopkins & Jones. That shows that he is very vulnerable and easy to put down if a fighter can put constant pressure on him instead of picking shots because Calzaghe is not going to let you pick your shots by revealing openings, instead he will keep throwing punches.

Johnson has a beard, power & a good work rate & I think he would just maul over Calzaghe because he won't respect his power like he did Dawson. What other way have you seen Calzaghe fight except with his speed and slap punches? If Joe has openings he can over whelm a fighter but Glen would not give him any because the pressure would be on.

I wouldn't ***** if Joe chose Johnson... only because Johnson is a hell of a guy and deserves a chance to shine. He came up through the school of hard knocks and has wracked up quite a few losses, but he's just a great guy and always steps up to the plate. He is Tarver's exact opposite.
