ok i understand that hopkins had to fight a mandatory at that time, but why was he still fighting undersized middleweights who posed no threat at all? by the time of that hakkar fight he had already cleaned out the 160lb division and beat the biggest threat in that weight range in trinidad. the only legit threat left down at 160 was the 154 lb. champ winky wright and he avoided him citing "high risk, no reward" to fight the green jermain taylor for what probably amounted to an extra million bucks if that. moving up to 175 and facing pre weight drain jones wasn't that big of a priority (60-40 I'll kick your ass, lol) until he got ko'd by tarver and was toast. not even a remote possibility of moving up to 168 and fighting calzaghe.
