My gut is beginning to tell me this all boils back down to the DLh fight. the 70/30 split oscar forced onto him never sat well. I get the feeling he felt like he was held hostage by oscar. & now since shaffer is representig Ricky in their negotiations....that bad taste is still there. I'm begiining to see this is less about ricky than it is Manny's current "inferiority complex" (I don't mean that in a denigrating way either) All over the blogs on several site I have read about filipino ppeople being traditionally treated in a second class manner. & a lot of stuff about white people trying to dominate brown people. & just b/c phillipines is a poor country doesn't mean u can walk all over them.... I can understand all of that. prizefighting has historically always been as much about ethnic pride & social/sconomic standing as it has been about the actual fight. ..In fact moreso. B/c prizefighting has always been just that...a "prizefight" for money. But the representation of racial & ethnic pwr is wrapped up in that also.

I don't feel like Ricky is being difficult or disrespectful.I feel like he is levaeraging his Value (as much as anybody tries to devalue his career) His fanbase, ticket sales, PPV buys, & win record indicate value he has. & for him to argue that it is just as high if not higher than manny's is his righ As it is manny's to argue the same. But I don't feel like this is about ricky. It's more about the "****" that was the DLH fight. 70/30

I think you're probably right. It's that spiteful impulse where you're more concerned with what somebody is getting than with what you have that I really hate though.

55-45 split to the winner

A 55-45 split where the winner walks away with the bigger guaranteed purse would solve the problem. With respects to a Pac vs Mayweather bout: Mayweather "was" the better boxer but he had problems with southpaws in the past (Judah ...initially lead) and inactivity will inevitably cost him also. I'd love to see that match up. I like Ricky Hatton but I think PacMan has the upper hand fiscally. PacMan vs Cotto would be another barn burner, especially considering that Cotto is a converted southpaw. Margarito vs PacMan could be problematic .... I'm not sure that PacMan looked as good against DLH as DLH just plain looked BAD.

Hattons fans are delusional for thinking that Manny deserved 50-50. Why do soccer teams in England pay top money for Foreign Born Players such as, Droba(Ivory Coast, Chelsea), Shevchenko(Ukraine, Chelsea), and Ronaldo(Portuguese, Manchester United), But Hatton refuses to give top money to Pacquiao? Well, the British Fans generate the money to see those Soccer stars don't they?

Manny Pacquiao just wants to be recogized as a top athlete in the sport of the boxing world. If U.K. fans can recognize the talent of Foreign Born Soccer Players, why can't they recognize Pacquiao's talents? Pacquiao deserves 60-40 on talent, resume, and potential for excitement. 55-45 is generous to Hatton.

To me it is all about the respect of which Manny has already aquired and which Ricky longs for as a fighter... If both fighters had to retire today, Manny goes out with a legacy Ricky cannot even come close to... It seems Money is less important at this stage to Manny because he is willing to let go of, what looks like, the largest payday in his career. Richard schaffer and others arent helping any by belittling a man with an understandibly well earned sense of pride. Projecting and finally divulging an inert self righteous feeling and idea of Manny as a "spoiled child" that doesn't know what is good for himself, isn't going to bode well with a man who is willing to let go of millions for the sake of disproving those greedy individuals with an agenda who see him as an "uneducated target" they can manipulate. I agree. I think however at the end of the day, Hatton still is bugged about how the Mayweather fight and split worked out, and he feels "better" than what's offered to him, which he's not...I feel, also that Hatton is quite racist when you think about it.

Hatton called out the Pacman and expressed his wish to fight the #1 P4P. Fact is, there is only one #1 P4P and that is the Pacman. I think this is more about respecting the Pacman. He has fought many wars before and have been humble enough to accept the smaller share. C'mon, he is now the universally recognized #1 man in boxing and should be respected like he should. Who cares if Hatton brings British fans. Would they come in the same number if Ricky was fighting a nobody? Lets not forget that Pacman has brought excitement back to boxing at a time when it is clearly losing significant grounds to MMA. A 50/50 split with a second rate swimmer. Boxing is a sport that entertains its viewers. The Pacman is what boxing fans are craving for. He performs regardless of who you put in front of him. Would anyone really rather watch the hugging style of Ricky Hatton or the all-action Pacquiao phenomenon?

Hatton budge to 52-48 for pacquiao? i think its an insult!!! They should give in to 55-45 in favor of pac if they really wanted to fight for legacy not for money... Pac legacy is already there, and if ever pac would loose to hatton then hatton will then dictate the terms whoever will he fight... Pacman doesnt care about the money... he cared about his worth as fighter and as a person on top of the sport... and if ever this fight wont come to reality, its not because of pac but because of GBP who insults the #1 p4p of saying that he is worth the same with a boring boxer who hugs and hits...
