pacquiao.
50-50 was a fair deal.
52-48 was more than fair.
when your promoter and trainer thinks it's a good deal , you know it is.
and i don't want to hear the morons who think roach and arum is selling pacquiao out or some ****. they know the business and they know how the business works.
the fuckers who sold pacquiao out are his so called advisors from philippines who's whispering nothing but bull**** in his ear. they just cost manny about $10-15 million dollars if his next fight is around $5 million.
that "UNFAIR" 50-50 deal would have made him $15-20 million......i wish god would be unfair to me......
manny is a moron.Last edited by Left Hook Tua; 01-21-2009, 12:18 PM.Comment

Your promoter is paid to get you the best deal thats reasonably achievable without hurting the product.
50/50 was very generous to pacman every single nuetral poster here said so, hatton could easily have asked for more having given up the venue and fight time.
As soon as Pac-man refused the 50/50 agreed by Arum he started hurting the product (him in the eyes of fans) by refusing to compromise he has significantly damaged his reputation as a product (himself) and choise of markets (other fighters).
My view mirrors most people who follow boxing, Arum is one of the best deal makers in the sport, his fighters often come out a bargin session better than they rightfully should do when he is at the table, i believe this was the case at 50/50 and Arum did a great job getting that much.
The movement from Hatton both in terms of venue, timing of the fight, date and movement from 50/50 to 52/48 shows he was willing to move to get the fight made.
Pacman refused to take good offers, refused again when even his close advisers told him it was a good deal and then again when Hatton moved towards him. All this after gaining every consession on other aspects of the fight.
I honestly don't know wtf Pacman is thinking, Brit fans would have become fans of him on a large scale had he won so not only has he squandered his biggest payday through greed he has lost a **** load of potential loyal fans.Comment

Ricky Hatton is looking more to me like the next Oscar de la Hoya whose abilities can't back up their huge PPV draw. Pacquiao doesn't need him to improve his legacy. There are a lot more worthy foes out there even if he ends up getting a lot less $$$$$$$. Ricky can go on padding his bank account if that's all he cares about and use his bills for toilet paper if he runs out of ideas how to spend it all...lol.
I hope Manny doesn't do a 180 and give in to the Hatton Hype and Money Making Machine.Comment

I think bob arum got caught up with his own pride. He may have thought that pac was his pet animal, without consulting the animal. Bob arum himself admitted that pac was not present when he negotiated for a 50/50. Having made that blunder, he`d save face by pretending to be charitable, nope pac didn`t need that. I think the pac is contented with his money, that`s why he can take those risks, nope he is not the greedy one. He made his way from starvation not just to be threatened by these oligarchs. Now who`s affected now? He`s the man. He can start from nothing again an all would still be watching.
arum agreed to 50-50 because it was a good deal.
the original offer was 60-40 to pac but hatton kept the u.k. revenue.
the 50-50 on u.s. and u.k. revenue and manny keeping the philippine tv revenue was a sweet deal.
only a moron would turn it down. unfortunately for pac he's surrounded by morons in philippines.Comment
