I don't know about Pavlik-Hopkins being fixed, some people just use that as an excuse to explain something that they can't understand.

I always questioned the legitimacy of the Julio "Baby Face" Garcia fight with Troy Browning. Garcia did a poor job of feigning interest in winning the fight. ESPN of course wouldn't recognize that out loud because it detracts from their telecast's credibility.

Mayorga vs DLH never seemed that su****ious to me, I have to say. Funny thing is, I thought Shane against Mayorga was a bit dubious, in that Shane got the KO so late.

Btw, how could DLH bet on himself? Come on, man. Don't tell me he got a third party to do it or something. Bookies are not going to let that happen to them. And what's the most DLH could make anyway? More than future fights he could have made, with the cache of having beaten Bernard Hopkins?

And what was Pavlik's motive for losing to Hops? He looked out of his depth, the defeat was embarassing, it's hit his legacy to lose so badly to an old man, it hit his marketability. What is Pavlik going to gain from it?

I'm not disagreeing that the fights looked weird. But just saying I need a solid motive and reason to believe.

Pavlik's motive is a couple of million. He didn't do any damage to his future fights. Pavlik is still an exciting fighter with many options left. And why is DLH having a third party or a couple of third parties betting on the other guy such a big task. He's lost 4 out of his last 5 big fights yet continues to sell ridiculous ppv numbers and sells out arenas in 5 minutes. He got ****ed up by a smaller guy but we all know that if the fight with Chavez Jr happens, its gonna shatter any previous record. It's not that difficult when you have an entire sport in the palm of your hand.

pac-dlh for sure, i still think that bout was tainted. and, the way dlh went down against hopkins and then how he told merchant in the postfight interview that "he has what it takes to get up but just couldnt" just seemed fishy to me.

Pac-DLH smells because no one saw it coming. Seriously doubt that was fixed but then...I can't help but remember the fight where I definitely felt like something shady went on...Hopkins-De La Hoya.
