Who here actually does boxing?

I've half way trained now for about 4 years but have not been in an ametuer fight yet. I turn 30 this year and plan on having some fights @ 178 (LHW) before I get there. From sparring and street fighting, I know I can fight but it's a whole different world when in competition. If you don't eat, sleep and breathe boxing, you are already behind. My goal is to have some AM fights by June and get a pro license within the next couple years. This all depends on how well I do in the semi-pro ranks of course, but I want to be able to tell my son that I was a pro boxer when he grows up one day. And, you never know what will happen. I may take to it and win something.Comment

Lex:
Scully is a second-rate fighter from the 90's who was the whipping post for some of the legitimate guys coming up. He shows up on a lot of boxing forums, posing as some sort of guru. LOL! I'm not surprised that you've never heard of him. Neither have people in his own family.Comment

I first stepped into a boxing gym at about age 8-9, and competed amateur from age 12 to right before turning 20. I stopped for a few years to focus on work and family, but started hitting the gym again about four years ago.
I'm 28 now (29 this year) and go workout and spare twice a week.Comment
