    Andrew Golota

What do you think it was that caused this guy's collapse? Was he just mentally unstable, or did he really not care about being a fighter?

He could've been a Heavyweight Champion, he threw it all down the toilet, on purpose. In both of the Bowe fights he threw them both away. He quit on his stool against Grant, and quit against Tyson.

What a strange dude he was.

Is he still fighting? The last fight I saw him in was the win over Mike Mollo.

(I just rewatched the "Legendary Nights" on Bowe/Golota and it got me thinking.)

Always a shame to see someone throw away their chances to greatness but i've never had any sympathy for him cause for some reason I really really dislike him.

Strange but I just cant like the guy.

Well he just got tko'd in one round against Ray Austin because of an arm injury after getting flored by the first punches thrown by Austin. Fight is on youtube.

Andrew is a mental case all the way. He had plenty of tallent and just couldn't handle pressure at all. After the Lewis fight he didn't seem to want to fight anymore. He had an severe reaction to an injection that made him faint several times before the fight even started. From what I've heard, Golota is just as weird in person. Someone on here posted that he tried to get a picture with Andrew and Andrew was acting really weird saying "take the ****ing picture" repeatedly. Like he didn't want to greet his fans at all. The guy is just messed up for some reason and it cost him lots of money and more then a few titles as well.

He should have been champ at least once.He was robbed vs Byrd and Ruiz.He was and is a mental case but was a better fighter than given credit, the Bowe debacles take a lot out of his career. But he was a better fighter.

Yeah, that's the weirdest part, he had skills. He could've done something with it, but he just decided to piss it all away.

I think he's more unstable than Mike Tyson. Tyson has some mental problems (depression, lack of confidence, etc...), but Mike is also very smart. A lot of the things he did were to promote his fights, gain attention, and make more money.

Andrew on the other hand, is what Tyson falsely portrayed himself to be : A genuine nutjob who really doesn't give a ****.

Andrew impesonated a cop once on the streets of Chicago, another time got into an altercation with a guy in a polish disco and stripped the guy and left him naked in the street, both were drunk during this.Golota is definetely unstable mentally,or at least was.But he had class A physical and technical boxing potential.I was actually expecting him to give Lennox a fight.

Yeah, Andrew is a headcase. And I expected him to give Lennox a fight as well.

It's so hard for me to try to comprehend what (if anything) motivated him. I mean ****, he had dreams of being the first Polish Heavyweight ever. He had the support of an entire Nation behind him that loved him.

Absolutely. But the Bowe fights we his first real shot, and he blew them on purpose.

And he probably could've beaten Tyson as well, but he just up and quit on his stool.
