  • Kelly Pavlik Aims For Arthur Abraham, Felix Sturm in 09

WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik is looking to bounce back in a big way in 2009. After building himself up as one of the best in the world, he faced veteran Bernard Hopkins last October and saw his unbeaten record snapped into pieces when he was dominated over twelve rounds. When speaking with Jose "OnFire" Aguirre of BoxingScene.com, he appeared to view the loss as a learning experience. [details]

Pavlik would KO Sturm. Abraham is the only fight that would worry me. Still think Pavlik would pull it out.

Pavlik vs Abraham would be good. Abrahams a tough dude. Would be a good win for Pavlik though.

Pavlik will liquidate sturm with ease. Abraham vs Pavlik is going to be a phenomenal battle with a bloody outcome and yet hard to predict who will win. Both of them displayed an outstanding performance and durability throughout their fights. I go with Abraham with confidence. AA never was floored.

Sturm gets underrated. Outside the first Castillejo fight, where he got a well schooled veteran having a fantastic night and late career surge, he's been solid. His hand speed and footwork could give Pavlik issues. Not saying he'd win but it's a serious fight.

I think AA stops Pavlik in brutal fashion.

Overall, they are easily his best challengers at 160 and if he fought them both this year and won clean he'd deserve FOTY consideration.

These guys need to unify. Pavlik is already the UD champ, but any of the fights made between these 3 can be good. Make it happen.
