Adjustments for Berto

The only thing he needs to do is BOX and fight his game, I think getting Mayweather Sr in his corner would also help a lot with improving his D,

He's pefect for Berto i think! Good idea but hey i dont want him gettin TOO good and beating my guy Cotto!

Why was he sluggin it out a bit too much?

First off, Collazo didn't catch a raw deal. It was a very close fight, that could've gone either way. But all 3 judges having it for Berto was odd to me, especially the 116-111 score.

But Berto needs to up his defense some, for real. Especially covering his body. Luis was ripping him up all night long to the body, and Berto had no answer for it.

Lastly, the thing you said about the "Luis Collazo type level" is unfair. Most people think he got robbed against Hatton, he lost clearly to Shane but fought with a broken thumb after round 2, and he's in contention for anybody at 147lbs.

There ain't nothing wrong with being on Louie's level. He's a humble guy and a good fighter who's had some tough breaks.

Yeah I agree. He isn't bad inside, especially that's the time he can unleash that vicious uppercut of his. But against Collazo he got into trouble by fighting in close too much instead of boxing on the outside where he was doing extremely well. I wish he would stick to that quick jab of his a lot more.

adjustments?

he needs more work against southpaws..that straight left from louie seemed like it had a gps to berto's noggin

and conditioning...he was gassing out early

That wasn't a conditioning problem, that was Louie tearing his body up on the inside consistently.

Collazo would often throw his left and move in so they would be in a clinch and Collazo was landing a lot of shots in the clinch so Berto would throw back in "desperation" and they exchanged and Collazo got the better of him most of the time there. When Berto kept the distance he fought better and landed some clean shots on Luis.

With a great guy like Mayweather Sr in his corner, I doubt anyone could stop him.

Absolutely..I became a fan of his last night. He really hung it out there last night..they both did.

Ya, that's true, Berto has excellent stamina and he could go 12 rounds easy but the body shots took their toll on him. They were hard shots and you could tell after each body shot that he really felt them.

In a way im glad Berto got to be in a real "fight" and hopefully he can learn from this.
