Adjustments for Berto

Ya, that's true, Berto has excellent stamina and he could go 12 rounds easy but the body shots took their toll on him. They were hard shots and you could tell after each body shot that he really felt them.
In a way im glad Berto got to be in a real "fight" and hopefully he can learn from this.
Both guys went up a level in my book last night, though as I said, Collazo impressed me more.
But you're right, it was nice to see Andre in an actual scrap and not a one-sided affair against someone nobody's heard of. Last night was trial by fire, and he held up pretty well.Comment

Also, though he did get caught with alot of body shots, what lead to this? Why was Berto not using his legs to stay on the outside of Luis and pump out his jab? I believe he did this for a second in the early rounds after his corner told him to do so, but he could not do it consistently, and that is why Luis got to that body.
In any event, Berto's legs looked very unstable by the 7th and 8th rounds, he has to work on moving around the ring, not slugging it out, and effectively utilizing his jab. He has been advised of this before, however he has not adjusted yet. No doubt he can mix it up inside, but against a harder and more dangerous fighter like Cotto, Margo, Clottey, or maybe even Shane, I believe that Berto would be eaten up.
Improve that outside game and jab Berto and also don't get lazy on the inside, jab your way in, through a 3-4 punch combination, and get out. This will serve you more than going in and brawling, then trying to conserve your energy by holding your opponents. This not only could, and in this instance did, cause you a point for holding, but also expose your body and chin to some shots that will slow you up later in the fight!Comment

I'll have to go back and watch it, that was the kid he caught with that sick uppercut right? His name escapes me at the moment, but I can see the uppercut that dropped him landing, beads of sweat and all flying off his face, lol.Comment

First off i havent seen the fight but it sounds like Collazo might have caught a raw deal! So with that is there any adjustments Berto can make to win or win clearer next time he faces Collazo? Will he have learned from this fight? I hope so he's an exciteing fighter id like him to make it beyond the Luis Collazo type levelComment
