  • I cant believe some of you called this a robbery!

I just watched the fight(in very good quality), and Im simply amazed that people are crying robbery.

first of all, this was a fantastic fight. just great. yall may not agree on who won, but we should all agree that there should be a rematch.

I had Berto winning 7-5...in other words, by 1 point. this fight was easy to score, other than one round...the 6th. which honestly could have gone either way. I went ahead and watched it twice just to make sure I was giving it to the right guy. but this just in...if one round could have gone either way, and the whole fight was decided by one round...ITS NOT A ROBBERY.

even Lederman got the rounds right, other than the 7th round...he must have gone to the bathroom or something during that round, that was probebly the most dominant round for Berto all night, but he gave it to Collazo. huh? but honestly, this fight was not that hard to score.
    Berto won rounds 2,5,7,8,11,12
    Collazo won rounds 1,3,4,9,10
and the 6th was the only real close one.

    Agreed 100%.

I just watched it too, and had it 114-113 Berto. Yes, it was close. But robbery? No, just no.

EDIT- Damn Can't give you any Green K.

      irish,

i had collazo up by 2pts at the end..it was a GREAT fight but what triggered the 'robbery' reflex for me was 116-111..

but i know it was a close fight...a return bout would be fitting

i made a thread about it last night. the reason some people here were saying it was a robbery cuz the hbo crew kept saying that berto was kd in the 1st round but there wasnt any kd. that led some people to believe collazo lost a close fight having a 10-8 round in the first and one in the 3rd for holding.

I agree it wasn't a robbery, but Collazo still won imo. Here was my card

Round 5 and 6 were close, but I think atleast one of them should go to the other.

This is always what you get from people here, kneejerk reactions to close fights. This **** wasn't Holyfield/Valuev or Casa/Santa Cruz. It was a brutal, toe-to-toe battle with neither fighter giving an inch.

I had Collazo winning by 2 points, but the closeness of every round leave it open for debate.

It's like the people who claim Marquez got robbed against Pac in the rematch. I personally had Juan winning by 2 points, but it was nowhere near what classifies a fight as a "robbery".

the judge that scored it 116-111 should be pnched in the face and sent to remedial scoring classes. I seriouly, he only gave Collazo 3 rounds? terrible scoring.

but the fact that Berto ended up with the win is not a robbery whatsoever though.
what made this even more great is that I had it anyones fight going into the 12th, and Berto ended up rallying and winning the fight because of that final round.

I dont remember Collazo winning the 5th, warp.

The round where Collazo fought off the ropes for nearly 2 minutes (I believe the 7th) was clearly Colazzo's round and you gave it to Berto.

Collazo was eating him up in that round it wasn't even close, Berto was completely ineffective and Collazo was landing clean to the head and body.

Just cause he was on the ropes doesen't mean the other guy automatically gets the round.
