The Berto fight confirms that Collazo isn't a "bum" that people here were saying he was when Hatton beat him.

FTR, a fight that can be scored a draw or 1-2 points either way, can not be a robbery, it's just a close fight and in any close fights biased people (like Kellerman) will claim their boy got "ripped off"...

Well put, plus Berto is a natural WW, while Hatton is a natural JW. The Kd in the 1st RD did it for Hatton.

That's how I had it. That spaz Kellerman was spouting off how "most people thought Collazo was robbed against Hatton" or something to that affect.

I think most people thought Collazo was a borderline top 10 WW with little to no power. The Berto did a bit to change some of those opinions, though I guess Berto's chin and defense aren't exactly legendary. Collazo fought his a$$ off though and gained some fans for sure. Dropping his hands in the 7th against someone with quick hands and decent pop like Andre showed the kid has skills.

good post. Plus i think hatton's team managed his weight wrong. He was looking kinda chunky against Luis. He should of done what he did for Mayweather. Come in a couple pounds under 147.

Only Collazo is better now than then , he was more defensive earlier because of his hand that he just had surgery on to fix ,,,, a fighters performance on a night is not always the same level and when evaluating a fighter his name dont mean jack unless the fighter performed at his best , Hatton didnt fight the Collazo that fought Berto , Luis said so himself prior its the best he has been and the hand is right , this Luis prolly would have beat that Ricky soundly .

No because Hatton and Berto didn't defeat Collazo, they just got gift decisions.
