And Jeff Lacy is??? The past is the past, Green has fought his way back and that loss was at 160, where he had legitimate excuse for the loss.

At 168, he is undefeated and has been a Top 10 Ring Magazine contender for years. Credible??? Yes he is.

Jeff Lacy would probably beat Allan Green in a fight. I can't seen Allan Green beating many fighters since he is too busy staring at their feet.

Point is, Lacy was only a tune-up fight. If Taylor fights Green or Ward now, when he could be fighting Froch for the WBC belt, for which he's the mandatory, or Bute for the IBF belt, or even Kessler for the WBA belt, he'll be ducking the top fighters, end of story. You can't say you need two tune-up fights in a row. He'll lose all credibility with most boxing fans if he does that.

Taylor/Ward would be interesting but Ward going from Buchanan to Taylor is a HUGE step up in talent and level of experience. I know Ward has expressed interest in Taylor, but as a very promising up-and-comer, most fans probably want to see Ward get a Green or Miranda under his belt before going after Taylor.
