Jermain Taylor's options involve Andre Ward, Allan Green

The mystery continues. Nobody knows exactly when Jermain Taylor (28-2, 17KOs) will return, or the opponent, or the network. The scenario right now has Taylor returning on March 28. Showtime, not HBO, is the frontrunner to carry the fight. At the same time, nothing has been written in stone. Taylor is the mandatory to WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch. The purse bid is scheduled for Friday. Taylor's promoter Lou DiBella has presented an offer to Froch's team. They have not responded, yet. Froch's promoter Mick Hennessey might be killing time to take his chances at the purse bid [details]

Taylor/Green is an easy fight to make since DiBella promotes both fighters. Would Showtime even want this fight though? Green hasn't done anything lately. ANYTHING.

Taylor/Ward would be interesting but Ward going from Buchanan to Taylor is a HUGE step up in talent and level of experience. I know Ward has expressed interest in Taylor, but as a very promising up-and-comer, most fans probably want to see Ward get a Green or Miranda under his belt before going after Taylor.

I really hate seeing good fighters forced to sit on the sidelines in their primes because of politics

Whatever the offer is, Hennessy needs to accept it.

It'll be ****ing bull**** if Taylor ends up fighting Allan Green or Ward when he can fight for the WBC title.

Showtime seem open to the Froch fight (or presumably DiBella wouldn't have made any offer), so if it means Froch has to fight March 28th in the States, he should grasp that opportunity, 'cos it might not come around again.

Ward-Taylor couldn't happen...Ward barely fights once ever 3 months, let alone once a month. He'd be fighting in feb. and march.

For a chance at Taylor, I'm sure they'd find a way out of the Buchanan date.

Glad Showtime are getting involved to help Taylor-Froch happen + with ITV showing all Froch's fights in the UK, really hoping this fight happens now.

Fuck HBO if they don't want this fight, but yet are happy to be showing Dawson-Tarver II.

Taylor is a Super-middleweight now. If the fight with Carl Froch doesn't come off for the title, then he should fight a credible 168 contener in Green.

Green deserves this opportunity. Ward? That kid needs a few more creampuffs to get more experience under his belt.

Id take Taylor over Allan Green.
And as much as I like Taylor, I gotta admit I would be rallying for by boy Ward if that fight came off.
                  Hopefully Taylor and Froch happens.

After the way Green fought against Miranda he became an unsellable fighter. He's not a creditable opponent for Taylor.
