Chad Dawson and his team actually did turn down an offer from Mikkel Kessler.

Hey you ****** ****, how did I imply I was a hater? I just don't see the point of one person trying to blockade a possible fight. If Kessler wanted to fight Dawson than the promoter and the manager should agree to it. From what I read, I think it was just ONE person (it was either the manager or promoter) in Kessler's camp trying to prevent the fight. In this situation though, it seemed like Dawson's promoter (Gary Shaw) was also not trying to make it happen.

And Chad won't be fighting Kessler, Hopkins, or Calzaghe after Tarver. He probably has to fight his mandatory Tavoris Cloud.

I heard about a proposed catchweight of 170. I didnt know Kessler even wanted to go as high as 172 to face Dawson. Shows how desperate he is to get a fight in the US.

Too bad Shaw turned him down on Dawson's behalf.

Do we really think that Kessler would be willing to fight Dawson in New Haven? Hes never even fought in U.S before. I just don't buy it.
He fought injured against Mundine and injured against Calzaghe. Both times in his opponenst backyard. Do you question his courage still?

He has fought in the US. He KO'ed Isreal Ponce in 2 rounds on the Gatti-Damgaard undercard in Las Vegas.

In the UK, Ponce is a derogotary slang to imply a gay male

Maybe that's why he turned his back so quick. Strange. One would think he'd love to get spanked by pretty-boy Kessler.

We could also accuse Kessler of ducking a 175 pound match with Dawson.
                See the point?
exactly bro .....for the record......Dawson spanks Kessler at 175.

Not really in this case since Dawson was the one who called out a fighter in a lower weight division.

If Kessler called out Pavlik it would be fair to stage the fight at 160 or somewhere else below 168 IMO.

And Dawson would fight comfortably at a catchweight at 172 too. Dawson would have no problem fighting at SMW right now. Maybe Tarver activated the rematch clause before Dawson the fight could be made, who knows.

BatTheMan do you know anything about IBF mandatory rules? I know IBF rules are different from the WBC and Dawson needs to Tavoris Cloud sooner or later. Does Dawson have to fight Cloud after he beats Tarver?
