Thats why he wont fight Hatton first, he could lose. Yes if he won it would be perfect but its not written in stone he will. Fighting Floyd first win or lose its two guaranteed paydays, fight Hatton and lose its only one payday. Common sense.

If Manny wins, he earns himself a shot at Floyd Mayweather.

If he loses, well then he really has no business fighting Floyd in the first place, and Floyd will probably stay retired and firm in his believe that he is the greatest of his generation.


A fight with Mayweather first would mean that Manny would have to beat Floyd in order to make a fight with Hatton interesting, and even that would lose some of its luster.
