The Hatton fight will always be there, fight Floyd first, even if you lose Hatton is still there, give Hatton the 60-40 then and even give him England if he wants. But if you fight Hatton first and lose, the Mayweather fight wont happen.

Freddie knows this and all of this negotiating is only to get a better percentage against Floyd. They never intended to fight Hatton first. Again this negotiating is only to get a better percentage with Floyd, who would want the bulk anyway, this helps their case now with Floyd because they will just tell Floyd that they can go back to Hatton, its all business and strategy.

A fight and win over Hatton (if he manages to get past Ricky) sets up a perfect storybook plot to a fight with Mayweather, who's last two fights just happened to be the same two fighters.

If Manny beats Hatton convincingly, and more impressively than Mayweather did, it would be a no brainer.



Besides, Floyd coming back within the next few months to fight the best fighter in the world, after an almost 2 year layoff, without a tune-up fight makes absolutely no sense.
