IMO, it is a reasonable move. If he were to lose, then it was a against a future HOF. If he wins, even better. With the former, Khan has to be at least somewhat competitive.

Very true, but 60% Barrera is not better than Khan himself. I don't know, I could be WAY off, but I just see this as a tune up for Khan. Meant to build his confidence and pimp his resume.

        it's very smart

if he loses, they know he's a lost cause

if he wins, casuals (his core fanbase) will go mad over him beating a legend and he'll be back where he was before the Prescott loss, maybe even higher

they know the reward outweights the risk by quite some way

A fighter like Khan is a counter-punchers dream, Barrera going to kill this loser.

I just wish Barrera could jump into a time machine and go back 8 years the night before the fight. He hasn't looked good since before his two fights with Juarez. If it's not age catching up with him... it's definately something... and now he is going to lose to a child.

Yes, but if I'm not mistaken, Khan's handlers are attempting to milk this guy and do what's best for his career in the long run. Throwing him in with a former champ just to find out if he sucks at this moment or not is a fast answer but it might needlesly cut Khan's career short.

i seriously think and i hope im wrong that Warren is just cashing in on Khan, even though Warren is a promoter he must know a thing or two about talent and which fighters really have it in them to become world champions and P4P fighters-maybe he doesnt see that in Khan, i mean alot of people think he is just over-hyped and for all his talent and speed the chin is made of glass!!! Warren has just signed 3 olympic boxers-(Gavin never made it due to weight), and maybe he feels he will just cash in on big fights before he moves on to better prospects i think Gavin is a better prospect than Khan!! Then Khan will probably leave and let one of his brothers promote him and we will see what goes on from there.....

ive been wanting Barrera to retire and stay retired but well i cant blame him if he wants to fight. and honestly if he has any talent left which he probably does well i expect him to beat Khan! Barrera's is one of the smartest boxers ive ever seen and with a young guy like Khan with a bad chin i know Barrera will expose him... again!

In my opinion, the benefit of winning and beating a fighter of Barrera's caliber far outweighs any risk associated with losing to him.

I actually applaud them for taking this fight, because it will definitely be a test and a challenge.

Worst case scenario, Khan loses to a future Hall Of Fame fighter, and goes back to the drawing board. The kid is very young, so he has nothing but time to prove his worth.

The benefits of a win though, are countless.

I'm actually going with youth and speed over experience in this fight, and have Khan winning a decision.
